Duke Lacrosse DNA: Mystery Man Revealed (Accuser's Boyfriend!!!)

May 13, 2006 — The second round of DNA test results in the Duke University rape investigation show "no conclusive match'' to any lacrosse players, defense attorneys said, but a vaginal swab of the alleged rape victim produced DNA from a "single male source'' — a man not on the lacrosse team who did not attend a March 13 party that was the site of the alleged rape.

Defense attorney Joe Chesire declined to identify the mystery man or his connection to the alleged victim, but ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned that the unnamed source of the DNA is the alleged victim's "boyfriend," according to her mother.

ABC News is withholding the name of the man because he is apparently not a target of the investigation. Records indicate that Durham, N.C., police gave the "boyfriend'' a cheek swab to collect DNA on May 3, ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned exclusively.

It is unclear if or how the first DNA tests missed what appears to be the only foreign genetic material found on the alleged victim's body, defense attorneys said. Two Duke lacrosse players were indicted more than two weeks before the cheek swab was taken from the "boyfriend."

It is also unclear whether the alleged victim had sex with the "boyfriend" the night she claims to have been raped by three Duke lacrosse players. DNA experts tell ABC News that genetic traces of semen can remain in the body up to six days after intercouse.

Hell, when I lived in Monroe, I worked with a bunch of Mangums. They are all over!

Mangum, Helms and Pigg-fine, old Monroe, NC names.

There was one girl I worked with, her married name was Pigg. All I could ever think when I talked to her was "Honey, if the man I wanted to marry had a name like Pigg, I do believe we'd take my last name."

OK - if we're going to do the parents thing, my son the middie, in his final H. S. home game Friday night, with about 5 secs left, won his face off, scooped up the ball, ran about 3 yards toward the opposing team's goal, wound up, and scored from midfield with 0.1 secs on the clock. It didn't really matter because we were already comfortably ahead but it was a SWEET way for him to end his career on his home turf.

I've been reading a different blog from the local Durham ABC site. One of the posters claims to be the FA's cousin, & while irrationally defending the FA, does say that the boyfriend has a rap sheet. We haven't gotten ehr to name him, tho.

The "boyfriend" with whom she had a "date" earlier. She may have had a few "dates". And as for the earlier claim that oral sodomy rape was part of what happened. Unless one gets "raped" that way by a sadist I would suggest it is easy to terminate and get revenge with one er.... fell swoop. Such a scenario suggest several targets of opportunity for the non-compliant female.

Don't take the national press too seriously, its just TV; they need the conflict and they talk out their butts about things when they really don't know the details (It works 95% of the time).
Regarding the other semen sample. My son is a lax player who has a good friend who played Lax at Duke recently. That friend told him three weeks ago there was a DNA semen match and it wasn't a Duke player. Ergo I have to believe the defense attorneys knew about this.

This should be cause for alarm--there is a protocol from SANE to SBI. I find it hard to believe the SBI did not test a vaginal swab if the swab was with everything else.

And it would have to be. Each step is dictated by the step before it. The nurse cannot willy nilly skip steps.

Further, each step is documented. Forget the reports, if I was on the defense team, I would get a copy of the hospital chart yesterday.

One last thing--Nifong better not try to blame it on the nurse or I will have to come to Durham and rip him a new one.

Because he wanted them to do a perp walk for the cameras. If they weren't sealed then their attornies could bring in. Sealed indictments meant that they couldn't turn themselves in--that they were a flight risk. It was all done for the cameras.
