First DNA link possible in lacrosse case

DURHAM -- Tissue found under the fingernail of an exotic dancer who claimed she was raped at a Duke University lacrosse party may match a player who was there, several well-placed sources said Wednesday.

Analyzing the tissue, scientists concluded it came from the same genetic pool and was "consistent" with the bodily makeup of one of 46 lacrosse players who gave DNA samples for testing, the sources said.

At the same time, scientists ruled out a possible match with any of the other 45 students, according to the sources.

If accurate, the fingernail tissue match would offer the first DNA evidence potentially linking the dancer and an alleged attacker.

But because a complete DNA pattern was not obtained from the tissue, it was not possible to match it with the nearly 100 percent certainty that DNA results usually offer, the sources added.

The dancer told police she clawed at three attackers as they raped and sodomized her for 30 minutes during the March 13-14 lacrosse house party at 610 N. Buchanan Blvd.

"The b%tch Nancy Grace uses the word "match.""

Of course she does, she also thought it was fishy that RS had a receipt from an ATM.

I wouldn't get too worked up about these incomplete leaks from Inspector Clouseau, the DNA test is what it is, and we'll find out what it is or isn't next week.

A minute or two of research reveals that NC is plagued by a rat governor and a rat attorney general.

There will be no oversight from their quarter. They are most likely completely gung-ho behind Nifong.

A better route may be through the state-wide association of chambers of commerce. They might be willing to put some pressure on if they can be convinced that this travesty is harmful to tourism and business in general, which is probably a tall order.

He's smart to lay low. Hopefully Reade's attorney will help him.

We are moving to the area as soon as we resolve some issues over the foundation of our house and can sell. We were considering western NC or eastern TN - Smokey Mountains/Cherokee. We now have no intention of living in a place with such a screwed up criminal justice system and such flagrant denial of civil rights and due process. One doesn't have to do ANYTHING to get caught up in the Kafkaesque criminal justice system there. It is a NIGHTMARE!!

We will become volunteers, NOT tar-heelers!

More on NG ... she questioned why the AV would painfully rip off her own acrylic nails, which cost $60 in a salon, and throw them in the trash.

Jesus, Joseph, and Mary!

And they are doing their intimidations in front of everyone. They don't care for the rule of law, just the "technicalities" upon which they can pull their stunts.

And the fingernails would have been flushed. LOL! Wouldn't THAT have given Nifong some DNA to shout about if he were to go digging the nails out of the sewer!

This is entire believable, Howlin. The thugs are in charge of decent people. And in positions of "authority".

"Stupid Nancy talking about how acrylic nails attached to the nail. She does not know they are stick-on nails. Idiot."

Most of the so called experts do not understand what a press on nail is.
They keep talking about DNA " under the nail. " A press on nail is like a decal.
The adhesive is tacky and they come off very easily with slight pressure. They often just fall off without any contact.
The nails come in different sizes for different nails. Perhaps the nail tested can be shown to have already been missing when the AV arrived.
In a life and death struggle-all 10 nails should have been on the floor.

Okay. But was it active all this time and they never sent him a notice? Don't cabbies have to renew their cab licenses every year or two? Don't they have to have at least a brief background check when their license is up for renewal? They do out here in the golden state. It's a public safety issue.

Maybe the TISSUE that we are hearing about is the "sticky" for the nails. I'd describe my "stickies" as tissue like. A man describing it for the media...Bwahahaha

So, did the sticky just grab a piece of hair in the basket. What else was in the basket. I assume the boys NEVER use the basket so it wouldn't be contaminated. :-)
