DURHAM, N.C. - Duke underestimated the rape allegations against members of the lacrosse team in part because Durham police initially said the accuser kept changing her story and was not credible, according to a university report issued Monday.
The day after the March 13 team party where a 27-year-old black woman claimed she was raped, Durham police told campus officers that this will blow over, the report said. It said that the woman initially told police she was raped by 20 white men, then said she was attacked by three.

As a team and as individuals.
He sure did; he looked right in the camera and said it.......with an incredulous look on his face!
Who is that Michelle who has been on lately? She's dead on the money.
And a lot of people on here have been saying today that the press has ignored the REAL story here, the 20 guys did her thing.
It's beginning to sound like Nifong ignored the police.
If you all remember, one of our TV stations said that the DPD said that the reason it took so long to get the search warrant for the house in the first place was because she only made her accusation after "subsequent interviews."
It sounded to me like her story "evolved" over a couple of days -- maybe with input from others.
Not a smart move. The police are in a position to give Nifong plenty of rope with which to hang himself, and I predict they will do just that (and not just on this case, but subsequent ones too).
I heard a while back that he took over the investigation; I can't imagine they are happy about that.
I didn't catch her last name but she was correct -- that it's a blockbuster that the stripper originally said that 20 men raped her.
The others on the panel tried to excuse it away as though maybe the woman said that 20 men were at the party and some cop goofed up. The defense needs to find that cop and pronto.
I sure did listen to Abrahms and he left no doubt what he sees as the lead in this story.
I went to a small college in Alabama, called Jacksonville State University. I went for one year and dropped out and went back into the Army. It seemed that nearly every class that I took, the professors all ranted for half the classes about the Vietnam war and the mean military. I got into an argument with one professor over the war because I had done my time in Nam, wounded there and time in the hospital. I asked him if he had ever even visited Vietnam and of course he had not. So, I said everything you know you read in the papers and see on TV, you haven't actually been there and seen the troops or asked them? He was really POed that I pi$$ed on his parade in class.
I listened to this crap for a year and finally decided that if this was what I had to listen to for four years, then to hell with it. I went back into the service to be among people I knew and understood and believed the things I did. I found nothing in college that made me want to stay there. I certainly was not getting an education because nothing was being taught. I was being indoctrinated by a communist in my opinion.
The DOD do not believe this woman.

You know, if Nifong wanted a good case on which to win re-election, Duke would be the ideal place to find it. Because there has always been a perception problem there wrt race. (I'm not saying that is true, only that that is what some people think). And what luck, he got a black woman with a story about being raped by white guys from Duke. Then he gets even luckier and the NBP's show up. That was all he needed to secure the black vote.
He says that he won't take this to trial til Spring, yet he talked about it on tv some 70 times THIS spring, right before his election. It is now obvious that he put those kids lives on the line to get re-elected, when he had to know the womans story was bogus.
It's almost like he cherry-picked this incident for his own good, isn't it? I mean, butting into the investigation, the lineup, taking the case to prosecute himself. It's all very telling.
On WRAL, they are now interviewing the first blacks who went to Duke, asking THEM what they think about this case.

Oh brother.
What is the report?
What'd they say?
How long was this alleged rape supposed to have taken? Is it enough time physiologically speaking for 20 young men to rape a woman? Anythings possible, but is it a realistic period of time for 20 men to rape a woman?
The things you'd expect; all about the "struggle" that is still ongoing.
