Teacher Out Of Job After X-Rated Video Surfaces

(PADUCAH, Ky.) -- A teacher in western Kentucky has been suspended and will not have her contract renewed after administrators found out she appeared in an adult movie more than a decade ago.

Tericka Dye, a science teacher and volleyball coach at Reidland High School in Paducah for the last two years, was suspended Wednesday and told she would not return to the classroom in the fall.

"Your presence in the classroom would cause a disruption to the educational process," McCracken County Schools Superintendent Tim Heller wrote in a letter to Dye. "I fear there would be less than a serious approach to schooling by students who viewed the video or know about it."

Someone in her past probably dimed her out. Ex-husband or ex-boyfriend most likely.

I am amazed! 63 posts, as of this moment, and not one person (in self-righteous glory) saying that this woman deserved to be fired for what she did 10 years ago. I was honestly expecting such a post somwhere in the first 5-6 postings. That is an improvement.

This woman did what she did 10 years ago, and following that joined and served in the military and afterwards became a teacher (apparently in good standing). She should not be fired for what happened a decade ago.

Ironically, Ron Jeremy WAS a high-school teacher before he became a porn star - I remember reading somewhere that he has a Masters in Special Education.

Personally, I would clean porn movie sets before I'd teach high school. I'd even get HAZMAT certification.

I have sympathy for this woman. It would seem she was in extreme circumstances when this happened and has been an asset to society since then.

Another photo. This is crazy that she got fired for this. The woman was desperate years ago to make some money, and even now realizes it was a mistake, and she 100% regrets what she did. I say suspend the superintendent for overreacting.

Much more pertinent factors: Was she a teacher THEN? Is she making porn NOW? IS she a good instructor? DOES she know her subject? DO her students LEARN better or worse than average?
