So now, I'm for New Jersey.
Go Devils!
Hockey Ping Listers - Your predictions, please!
Here's mine:
Sens over Sabres - 4-3
Devils over 'Canes - 4-1
Oilers over Sharks - 4-2
Avs over Ducks - 4-3
Freep mail/ping airborne or Hat-Trick if you want on or off the Hockey Ping List.
I'm really disappointed the Flames lost (man did the Ducks play awesome defense), I was really hoping for a Smythe Division Final like the old days.
Sabres over Senators 4-3 (OT in every game)
Devils over Hurricanes - 4-1
Oilers over Sharks - 4-2
Avs over Ducks - 4-1
then
Oilers vs Devils in finals, Oilers in 7 exciting games
From my perspective as an Av's fan - would much rather be playing the Ducks than the Sharks - hopefully having Konawalchuk back in the lineup helps get them to the Conf. finals.
one of my favorite times of the year :-)
now that I'm retired I don't hesitate staying up til 2:00 watching a double OT game out west. I wish I had been able to see more regular season so I could comment more cogently, but I thought the Oilers had the look of a team coming together at the right time.
Just remarkable..one conference, top 4 seeds win, the other.the bottom 4 advance..
Agreed, and the winner of that series against the Devils should also be a beaut.
I'll take Ottawa in both matches.
According to Bill Clement on OLN last night - the odds of that happening were 275/1.
Remeber back when the NHL first expanded..all the new teams were in the other division, and they got swept every year in the Cup finals..
There is absolutely nothing like NHL playoff hockey!! The NBA and Major League baseball DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE!! .... and my team isn't even in the playoffs!!
My Picks:
Devs over Canes in 6
Ottawa over Buffalo in 7
Colorado over Anaheim in 6
San Jose over Edmonton in 6
Hmmm...in the old days they used to rerank the teams...Ottawa (113 points) would have played New Jersey (101 points), and Carolina (112) would have played Buffalo (110)....
Buffalo is one of my teams to win in my office pool. It's just for fun but one wrinkle we have is that if you pick a team to lose and they continue to win, you accrue negative points until they do lose.
Ottawa 6-Buffalo scores with 10 seconds to go,Going to OT!!! Woaaahhh!!! This is wild!
This is going to be the best series in years!
