I received an email from a friend regarding the Trade Towers collapse. I haven't watched the entire video in the attachment as it is over an hour and I have other things for my Saturday planned. However, before I watch it, for those who have seen such 'evidence' that the towers collapsed due to controlled implosion or something like that, what is your view of the conspiracy theory. I've never seen Michael Moore's stuff (don't plan on seeing it either). I haven't delved too deeply into any of the conspiracys other than to know they exist. Am interested in hearing the Freepers take on things though.
Please don't reply unless you have studied the evidence from both sides.
You seem to need it as your last few posts have made no sense at all.
There are three reasons people claim the towers collapsed because of planted explosions:
1. Stupidity or ignorance.
2. Lots of Arab oil money has gone towards buying off media outlets and creating a silly mythology that exonerates radical Islam of the attacks.
3. Anti-semitism. The Joooos did it fits in with the idiot European and by extension East and Left coast US hatred of Jews.
YOUR DON'T MAKE SENSE.. Just a vindictive bunch of gibberish and accusations of ignorance, I've read your posts and history past few months. You're student. Got a lot to learn about being NICE to others and NAME calling, insinuations of stupidity.
Even if you have something worth saying (which is minimal) accusing others of nasty intentions, etc prevents your posts from being read or remembered. You're nastiness will be remember longer. Negatives are remembered longer than positives.

It seems to be an epidemic. Some folks (not on FR) the other day tried to convince me that a plane did not kit the Pentagon, but that a fighter jet shot it. What the hell is wrong with our country?
There seems to be an increased effort to circulate rumors about the 911 attacks at this time.
I've been seeing the video links on some other forums that are apolitical and Michael Medved has dealt with a number of callers recently on this topic.
I guess they don't like the release of United 93.
And yes, Michael Medved directed the skeptics to the Popular Mechanics article.

Popular Mechanics did an article on the Pentagon which thoroughly debunks the missile nonsense. Snopes has a whole section dedicated to it.
A few years back someone tried to convince me that the K in a circle on a bottle of Snapple meant that it was owned by the KKK. Not even showing her that it was on a number of other products and meant "Kosher" could convince her.
People have some kind of weird desire to believe this kind of stuff.

Gee, I have three degrees too. One BA and two Masters, and I have taught a couple of semesters of college. Obviously, there are many educated Freepers here. So, why can't we just treat each other as such and discuss the ISSUES that are being discussed? Doesn't seem like you want to. Which brings up an interesting point. Why exactly ARE you here?

He used to bring up a lot of conspiracy stuff in class. I believe there are conspiracies that are true (such as the conspiracy to destroy the trade towers as someone else mentioned on the thread above). Perhaps that is why he is sending me stuff. I don't believe this one is true, but I still like to be prepared. As I do not have time to watch an hour and a half video at the moment (and another video that he sent me today on the same subject), thought I would get a little background in case I am asked. I will watch the video, just to say I did. But, I couldn't have gotten some of the insights just from watching the video that I could have by asking the Freepers. Hopefully, it will make him think. There are true conspiracies. Just not all conspiracies are true.
