Not the Weekend, just because!
Want to gripe?
Want to share?
Want to brag?
Need some care?
Then pull up your chair, get out your workbasket, and come tell us about it!
All Crafters Welcome!
I have to admit, he is a sweetie pie when it comes to these things...and I saved $90 to boot buy catching a sale.
Beyond that, I have knitted 2/3s of a baby blanket since we last talked, and started making some curtains, but not much else.
But Spring is here, the winter arthritis isn't an issue, so maybe I'll get something accomplished.
VRWNNWC ping! come out, come out wherever you are...
Was wondering if I'd been dropped from your ping! :<
Been forgetting to ping! last few weeks have been hectic...
I finished stitching an elf on perforated paper. I just need to put the pattern on graph paper.
I am now back stitching on the Norman Rockwell Santa. I'm about 1/3 of the way through.
I'll be in Ogden this weekend, so a trip to Shepherd's Bush and the Needlepoint Joint are in order. Also dinner at Maddox's. Yum.
I took a look at the Shepherd's Bush retreat, held in Park City at the end of this September. I'm really trying to decide if $500 for 3 classes and $350 for housing is worth it...I'm leaning against it. I can go to Shepherd's Bush any time and that money could be spent on a lot more than 3 projects.
Boy, I agree with you on that...I could buy a new spinning wheel for the cost of housing alone...
I want one of those expensive lights on a stand that has a big magnifying glass. The cost of housing would cover that.
I really wanted to go when I heard that Amy Mitten would be a teacher. I still can't justify that kind of money.
Go to a crafting class? when one can increase one's personal stash of supplies, tools and trinkets? Unheard of around this house....
I am attending a retreat in August in Park City. Lots of opportunity to increase my stash and get 2 new projects. :)
The sprouts for the garden are finally in the garden where they belong and out of my sewing room. Hurray! But this also means I'll be spending more time in the garden than in my sewing room. :)
I love Easter; but the run up to Easter just about takes my very last tooth.
I do know what you mean...it's always a busy (maybe focused is a better word) time of the year for me.
Have been doing more cleaning/organizing and gardening than stitching. But I did buy and assembled some beautiful shelving for *most* of my fabric and a *little* of my yarn. When I was cleaning my closets, I motivated myself by pretending that the people from Mission: Organization on HGTV were there, urging me on over my shoulder. Is that strange or what?
The woman who wrote the "yarn harlot" books has an acronym that really fits me: SABLE (Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy). I think Hobby Lobby emits some gas in the yarn section that burns the wiring in my brain, causing me to buy WAY more yarn than I will ever use. ;)
When I ordered my loom stand, I also ordered two pounds of blue fingering wool...I understand that problem....
I even found a neat crocheted rug pattern (which I don't follow after the first 10 steps, of course!) to use up a lot of extra or scrap yarn, and made a couple of those. I still have more than I will use in the foreseeable future, and am "disinclined" to start Christmas projects now.
Anybody have any cute ideas for using up LOTS of extra yarn in a fast, but pretty project? It probably should be crocheted rather than knitted.
$850 is a LOT of yarn, fabric, or other crafty materials and supplies. Call me cheap, but that's where I'd put that kind of money.
I have a counted cross stitch sampler in the works; it is a collection of Civil War-era quilt squares. The actual quilt is on display in a Vermont museum, I believe. The floss colors used in the sampler are very close to the colors used in a lot of the Civil War-era quilting fabrics (prints) that are available now at places like Keepsake Quilting (lovvvvvvvvvvvvvve their catalog!).
Hello All!!!
I have finished both blankets I started for my godson's daughters. The two year old loved hers!! I haven't given the other one yet, as Miss Dixie has not made her appearance yet....
On another note, thank you all again for your prayers .... things are much better now....
= )
$850 is a lot of money, period. I'll just save what I don't spend for my craft room in my new house...
