Today a new ping list is starting on FreeRepublic, called TechSupport it will be a place for Freepers to get some help on problems that ight arise on their computers.
Why a list for this:
Some of the freepers who run or are involved in technical ping list find themselves with a good deal of mail from people asing about problems that many freepers might be able to and have more time to help with.
I have spoken to a few people who either run list or are involved on them and they fell this would accomplish three things. Firstly and most importantly get quick and responsive help to freepers who might. Secondly it will take the load off of any individual freeper from being a problem solver when they might have other things to do. Finally it will be a good place for non technical people who dont need help to educate themselves a bit more on how computers work.
Who Should Be on The List:
1) People who have expertise in any area of computing that are willing to lend a hand to help solve problems. Any area of computing will be a welcome addition to the list.
2) People who want to leanr by watching others work through problems.
How do I use The List:
To start with the list will be hosted Here (http://freerepublic.com/~n3wbi3/). In the section called TechSupport Ping copy the members of the list. Post a new message to the General/Chat section addressed to the members. This list is maintained be N3WBI3 but unlike other ping list any one (with a technical question) is free to post to the members.
I would love to explore and learn from the Freeper experts. Please add me to your ping list.
Please add me to the ping list.
Will you still ping the Tech list or is this a different list altogether?
I love keeping up-to-date with the news on the Tech Ping list. I can help out too.
Aj,
I still plan on running the OSS list and to the best of my knowlege no other List Tech, Apple, ... is going away. This is only being created to make put more eyes on a problem..
place me on the list. always willing to help people with home networking, windows and can help the very much newbies with linux problems that are beneath the level of the normal linux gurus here on the list.
Please add me as one who needs to learn more. Thanks.
Add me to the list. I am a 20+ year network engineering veteran with my MCSE, CCNP, CCA, Wireless Certification and so on and so on and so on ad nauseum ..... I do it for a living and am forever being hammered by folks with problems sometimes even in my sleep, so I'm not always in the mood for charity work, but I'll jump in every once in awhile.
My prince has come with his army!!
