I bet the accused turned tricks at some point in her stripping carrer. I wonder when this will come out?
To: Accygirl
As for the allegations, while there was no DNA, I'm not so sure that something didn't happen. The guys in question look like just the type of sleazy frat boys with huge trust funds that might try to sexually assault someone. I'm reminded of a group of college feminists who took a bunch of random photos of male students and made a big poster saying "These men may be rapists".
They would certainly have been very upset had their photos been circulated with the headline "These women may falsely accuse you of rape and attempt to ruin your life for any reason or no reason at all"

College women are much more likely to get raped than their non college bound peers because there's too much alcohol and they don't know how to protect themselves from an attack. When I went down for freshman orientation, the admin./ student speakers reiterated over and over that women shouldn't let others buy drinks for them, etc., because everyone's concerned about date rapes/ sexual assaults while intoxicated. Plus, most campus rapes are of the date rape variety, much less likely to go unreported than violent assaults by strangers.
Moreover, there's still a tendency to blame the victims for a rape/ sexual assault especially if it was a date rape or she was at a party and passed out. There was a case in suburban Lake County, IL (where I live) last year where the perpetrators gave the 16-year-old victim alcohol (I think it was likely laced with the date rape drug) and after she passed out taped themselves gang-raping her. Unfortunately, a hotshot attorney got the little sleazes off by blaming the victim.

"Oh... frat boys don't have to have trust funds to be sleazes (but it sure does help). However, I must admit that I am biased because I did go to this place called college and I was unfortunately privvy to some of the nasty behavior of this type of frat guy.."
Since you're obviously into profiling, I assume you'll have no problem with me stereotyping black skanky hos as being less than credible. Right?

No... but I know the Hoyt-type, and I am very adament about making sure that when such jerks engage in behavior, they don't get away with it because of my encounters with spoiled entitled frat boys in high school and college.
And I don't hate college people in general since about two years ago I was one and it was the best time of my life. I think that 70-75% of college kids are fairly good seeds, another 15% do some stupid things, and another 10% are little entitled snots.

Don't confuse my acknowledgment for what happens as a regular thing. I fully agree they did not need to be strippers. We agree on that the boys are from affluent backgrounds that probably heard stories from dad when he was in college. I was raised by a single black female who taught me to respect women. My grandfather taught me to respect all people. As I stated I do not condone their behavior but I am not clueless to what happens.

I think she hated the students and blamed them for her life as a whore. She couldn't stand being the dirty slut of privileged white boys.I wouldn't be surprised if she excepted money to have sex in the bathroom.

And when it is proven she's lying, will you care that their lives are destroyed?
Will you come back and explain to us exactly how this woman who didn't want to be arrested for public drunkenness for fear of losing her children advanced the cause of women who really ARE raped?

Try doing some research, before you spout your opinion. You obviously have NO clue.

I suspect she's lying. I also suspect the 2nd dancer is now lying. And the DA is running with this for all it's worth.
If Durham, NC is anything like other cities most of the white folks can't even vote 'cause they've moved to the burbs and the minorities have taken over. Saying all that, the white DA is now playing to the minority crowd. Shame on him.
To bad Duke University can't move to the burbs.

However, if either of those guys tried to pick me up in a bar, I'd run in another direction. They remind me of Hoyt from "I Am Charlotte Simmons". The fact is, you don't know anything about either one of them.

And what would you be doing hanging out in a bar waiting to be picked up?

College women are much more likely to get raped than their non college bound peers because there's too much alcohol and they don't know how to protect themselves from an attack. My daughter is a college freshman. My policy to her was that she's years away from being of legal drinking age, and so I do not want her anywhere where alcohol is served. And that if I find out she's been to one she's on curfew from that point on

Moreover, there's still a tendency to blame the victims for a rape/ sexual assault especially if it was a date rape or she was at a party and passed out. If a girl gets drunk at a party and then gets behind the wheel of a car, she is still fully liable for the consequences. In fact, she is MORE liable by virtue of the fact that she allowed herself to become impaired
If a guy and a woman get equally drunk at a party, and decide that having sex is a good idea, the woman is completely absolved from having given consent because she was drunk, yet the guy's being equally drunk in no way reduces his liability for his actions. So he goes to jail for being too drunk to be able to decide whether she was too drunk to be able to give informed consent
I have a simpler policy: don't get drunk, and don't get stoned. And don't hang out with people who do

Nothing good ever happens after midnight.
I don't know who came up with that phrase but it is sage advice and it's kept me out of serious trouble for 40 years. Whenever I am at a party or social gathering, 10:30 to 11PM is the "sweet spot" for hitting the road. By then, the party has pretty much peaked and it is downhill from that point as the drunks start getting obnoxious and out of hand.
