If I ever get a homestead, I want raised beds.

*sigh* Last week I went to a garage sale at a place that was absolutely my ideal - just absolutely gorgeous. They were set well back from the road and had a gate like mine, but then as you went up the road there were apple trees anc cherry trees along the sides, and flower gardens everywhere, and a hugh area with lots of raised beds and a hose hookup and potting stuff and all. The house had a big porch with hanging flowers and flower beds and...well, it was just lovely. Had to have taken them decades to bring it to what it is now.

One of the unidentified plants by the house finally bloomed! It looked enough like a "real" plant that I didn't weed it out early this spring.

It's bachelor's buttons! Like this:

Pretty, they are. I have a different variety in the shade garden in the back - smaller ones with just round flowers - not the spokey ones.
