The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

We'll we're not 'zactly home yet. We're at my mom's. We'll finish the trip home tomorrow.

Did I miss anything?

(I didn't read everything, but did XGI ever get his jaw back?)

Hey there, Corin.

XGI's jaw is somewhere in his car, last I heard. ;-)

Anything over 70 is too hot if you aren't swimming. IMO.

Heh...Tam just turned on my CD player and started it. Guess he likes Michael Bublé.

You needed the rain down there didn't you? We're now in Washington summer... we've gone from wet all the time directly to wishing it would cool off :~D

It's a yes/no situation. Most of the functional groups are considered almost public domain. With two established companies like this, they tend to overlook it. A good example, most medium sized machine guns (M-60, M240, etc) are all based on the MG42.

As for the styling of the lower, I'm sure something was worked out. The small arms industry is very tight knit. Unless you make a direct knockoff and try to screw the other guy.

That's the rumor :~)

Truth is, we'll be lucky to get any rain at all between now and sometime in September.

Grr...and it'd be nice to get it! It'd cool things off, and the garden would love it.

The PR folks for Washington State lie like rugs.

I only wish I could water the pasture... it's about to turn brown and then to dust. Everything's better with water.

I just hope it doesn't kill my vegetables. I don't really have time to water 'em before work, and with this heat...no matter how much I water, it's gonna dry out in a jiffy.

It does... I water my containers every day. And when it's like this, I just stand outside with the hose :~D

And we only barely remember November and December by summer :~D

Remind me, I still need to go get my jaw off the floor of the car...

Sounds like both of you had been searching, and were led to each other!

Thanks. Got my jaw back :)

Two different people have separately told each of us, "Enjoy the ride."
