New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |

Same here, not much else to do except use the city water for the garden, plus whatever we get from the dehumidifier and a/c.
Rose of sharon tree is blooming, white flowers with a red center.
I am thinking of planting my rutabagas next month...mid to end of July. That would give them all of August, September and October to grow...then harvest in time for Thanksgiving!
Gotta make the hardware cloth cages though...
Hey - he's real close to having it fixed out there... If I were you, when he gets the pump turned back on, I'd run water a good long time out through the hose - water the lawn or something, before you turn it on in the house... flush out whatever got sucked in :~)
I should probably go buy a big trashcan with wheels so I can water with the rinse cycle. :)
Okay, I've got enough red meat off the grill to last for a week and I'll have the veggies to go with it once I prep thegreens I harvested yesterday.
Well....I dunno about rutabagas, but I want to plant a fall crop of collards, turnips and kale. I'm wondering how long into the winter they'd last if I planted them in my front planterboxes.
Is he gonna tell one or the other of us when it's back on, do you think?
It's on now....
Our hose is running :~)
Yay!
Well...it's still coughing a bit, but it looks clear to me.
I'm gonna take a shower - woo-hoo! Sad how exciting that is... ;-)
His family gave a nice reception for him afterwards at a local country club, and someone said there were about 550 people there. Unfortunately a parishoner we know, who has a peanut allergy, ate something containing nuts and had a mild anaphalactic episode. They had to call the paramedics and ended up with two ambulances. We were on our way out when we heard about it. I think he was all right, but I haven't heard any more. We were behind the ambulance taking him to the hospital as we were leaving.
We fly out Wednesday the 28th. :-)
Felt pretty good, didn't it :~)
For the record, I *did* correct myself...
Though I wouldn't mind having one of those - as Baron Von Trapp, that is.
Er...I'd rather the Hummer than the mummer. Especially as that one appears to be one of the lower end models that doesn't come with the hood chick. I've always thought those were kinda tacky.
bummer
:-(
I was just thinkin'. It's almost Freepathon time. Should we move before the 1st?
