The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hey, I may not be able to do much, but I sure can learn. It's almost like my profession.

And here I was trying to be honest about the Precious.

Need to brush up on my Hedonism, I guess. ;-)

Joseph has seen some of these Honda Element commercials over the last few days. My favorite is the crab one; it's hilarious.

Since it costs exactly what the replacement phone did...it'd work nicely into conversations...

Haven't heard back yet, though. So we'll see. ;-)

Man, is it ever gorgeous today! Kinda not fair...my family will have been here almost a week when they fly out late tomorrow night, and they've really not seen any rain. Just sun and warmth and happy springtime.

Gonna go play in it awhile...get some watering and weeding done.

I needa sprinkler.

That always happens when tourists are here... then they move here and complain.

And I noticed your sweet dog sorta spread some kind of trash all over that used to be near the burn barrel.... ;~\

I almost picked it up so he could save face, but decided he needed to face you about it. :~\

He also found an interesting Batman cup, under the house, I'd think.

Every time I think I've gotten most of the trash, he finds more.

OK, heading outside. I don't think I'm gonna attempt to drive to Tacoma tonight. I'm sure I'll get a call saying "But you only have tonight and tomorrow night before they go back...!" But it's too long of a drive to do daily.

You scored as Existentialism. Your life is guided by the concept of Existentialism: You choose the meaning and purpose of your life.

"It is up to you to give [life] a meaning."
--Jean-Paul Sartre
