The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It is rather bizarre to blame the victim for being put out about it... and though you are doing well now going forward, you are just recovering financially, it's not like you're made of money. Yes, it was an accident, but it's cost matters.

I remembered you had the laptop when you first posted that your computer was fried; it was a "Wow, how'd she do that moment".

Are you going to order everything online? Don't forget there is a Computer Depot near you :-)

You scored as Divine Command. Your life is directed by Divine Command: Your god and religion give you meaning and direction.

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.
--King James Version of the Bible

Even as a tree has a single trunk but many branches and leaves, there is one religion--human religion--but any number of faiths.

I'm a little concerned that "hedonism" got a higher score than "justice."

Seriously. You'd think she'd never paid for the wedding pictures.

You scored as Justice (Fairness). Your life is guided by the concept of Fair Justice: Everyone, yourself included, should be rewarded and punished according to the help or harm they cause.

"He who does not punish evil commands it to be done."
--Leonardo da Vinci

Though force can protect in emergency, only justice, fairness, consideration and cooperation can finally lead men to the dawn of eternal peace.

Already ordered online...caught a one day only sale at NewEgg.com. A nice quiet mid-tower with a power source and plenty of bays and slots for $60. And I got it in black to match the monitor and key board.

Not sure how it applies, but Dad brought up the fact that I was born right before their insurance kicked in (almost a month early) as a reason why sometimes you just hafta pay. It really wasn't my fault I came early, though, so that isn't really a fair comparison..

I think the guilt trip would be better if she does not ask for any of it. More of the "Don't worry about it. It was only 150. I will pay for it somehow."

The only possible thing I could interpret that to mean is that "life isn't fair." But that's a stretch.

To which I would respond, "life isn't fair, but family should be."
