I'm busy puttering around the house getting ready for my mom coming to visit. She'll be spending evenings with us and days with my brother's family playin' with the grandkids.
Heh...I'm busy hanging around ...
You have freepmail
You got any ~ weather ~ yet?
going dark here, lightening a bit close..
looks great 2J... really a beautiful little home you got there... tell Steve "good werk" too...
It's just leaving the area. Had to power down because of lightning.
Got at least a couple of inches in therainguage. Hope the bunnies drowned.
A smidgen under 3" and light rain coming down.
Got cute Fiver pics?
Wow! Your garden looks great! What is the fabric type stuff under your squash? I can't believe how big your squash plants are. You must have planted really early...or you have really good dirt. :-) I've got a couple of squash plants, but they aren't nearly that big. My tomatoes look good though and so does the broccoli...if I can just keep the bugs out of them. We picked the last of the strawberries today and got about 4 cups. My peas are only about 5" tall...and yours area already done? I've got to get an earlier start next year. The kids and I are gonna build a hot box out of cardboard, and start some herbs this week...and that's about all in the g'nadgardennews. I'll have to take pics this week and post them.
BTW, I love our new coop. It's time though to clip the chickens wings and open the top hatch so the guineas can fly out during the day. It's also time to take a few of the birds in for the ax. The Menonites charge $2 a bird to work them up...more than worth it if you ask me...especially since we'll only be taking in 5. They'll be ok in the stew pot don't ya think?
VBS for us is the end of July. Not sure where I'll be helping at with that yet, but I'm sure I'll do something...
Thanks for the update,
Mrsnad
Looks great!
One of these days I'll get more pictures of my garden. Everything is up at this point: corn and squash and punkins and cukes and lettuce and all the herbs. And the tomatoes and peppers, of course.
But my plants are still little bits of green, pretty much. ;-) Not much to show yet. I do have the beginnings of some buds on the cherry tomatoes, though!
Back atcha. :-)
Shamelessly stolen from another thread...
Ever mindful of the congregation, the Baptist preacher and his wife decided to get a new dog, and knew that the dog also had to be a Baptist.
They visited kennel after kennel and explained their needs. Finally, they found a kennel whose owner assured them he had just the dog they wanted.
The owner brought the dog to meet the pastor and his wife. Fetch the Bible, he commanded. The dog bounded to the bookshelf, scrutinized the books, located the Bible, and brought it to the owner.
Now find Psalm 23, he commanded.
The dog dropped the Bible to the floor, and showing marvelous dexterity with his paws, leafed through and finding the correct passage, pointed to it with his paw. The pastor and his wife were very impressed and purchased the dog.
That evening, a group of church members came to visit.
The pastor and his wife began to show off the dog, having him locate several Bible verses. The visitors were very impressed.
One man asked, Can he do regular dog tricks, too?
I havent tried yet the pastor replied. He pointed his finger at the dog. HEEL! the pastor commanded. The dog immediately jumped on a chair, placed one paw on the pastors forehead and began to howl.
The pastor looked at his wife in shock and said, Good Lord! Hes Pentecostal!
~groan~
That's almost as bad as the joke winmag forwarded to me today :~D
Sorry. ;-)
It made *me* laugh!
Hey Corin, I haven't forgotten about getting the Lost links for you - I just ended up being really busy tonight. Went running, to the tanning parlor, to Wallyworld, the wine store, the fabric store, the bank, the gas station... then I got home and talked to Talon, and *then* my family distracted me and I should have been in bed an hour ago. I'll get 'em tomorrow.
I am not making this up.
Just after Luke was born, we frequently missed, or traded off on going to Sunday services. We were watching a video of one service and the Pastor mentioned our family for prayer.
Sam went over and put his paw and head down on the Mrs. lap...
Not a problem. We had the second performance of the youth production tonight, then we took Jr. out for some dinner.
g'nite all
*snort* I love it!
There's one of *those* threads agin. *sigh*
At this point I think I'm pretty OK with the idea of remaining single...most of the time. But those kinda threads still burn me up, especially when if any gal shows up and says she just hasn't met the right person, she gets attacked as being a likely feminazi evil man baiter, and it's a good thing she HASN'T settled down. Not me for once...but still.
