So there ya go! ;-)
Sounds good to me. Wish I had some red wine. I gots the dark chocolate.
Hehehe....had the dark chocolate already. I've got the wine, but I haven't opened it yet.
I'm so bad...I snack on bittersweet baking chocolate. At least it's relatively low in sugar.
mmm....dark chocolate....
Walgreens had the big Hershey chocolate bars on sale for a dollar apiece, so I grabbed one of the Special Dark.
Not as good as the ~real~ dark chocolate, but yummy nevertheless!
*wonders if aliens would enjoy dark chocolate*
I made the mistake of trying Scharffenberger chocolate (I'm probably butchering the spelling) a few years ago. It's...wayy too good. Luckily I haven't found a local source for it yet.
At least dark chocolate is somewhat self-limiting. It's too strong to just gobble down. ;-)
It is?
What other reason do they have for being here?
'night all...
Good call bro...
God bless yuh and protect yuh stm... may our enemies go down like wheat before the scythe...
Have either of you used the wireless internet services at any Starbucks? Did you have to have any particular 'carrier' to do so? I know that T-Mobile has 'hot spots' at Starbucks, but we're not clear on if we need to have signed up for that company's internet service in order to open up the laptop and use it at a store. We're looking for places down I-81 and I-77 that have access to wireless internet services.
My laptop isn't exactly very portable...so I never took it out anywhere in Fort Collins and I've actually never used it except at a few hotels where I didn't have to carry it far.
But I *think* normal Starbucks places require that you have some sort of service or pay in some way. Ones at bookstores are different, though. And plenty of large hotels will likely have open wireless networks...
Ramius is probably the most experienced where wireless is concerned.
Starbucks has wifi hotspots, through T-Mobile, and I think they're in every single Starbucks store.
It isn't free access. You can buy a connection for $6/hr or $30/mo for an account that works in all T-Mobile hotspots for unlimited access. You don't have to have a T-Mobile phone or anything... you just sign up on the redirect page for an account and pay with a credit card and you're good to go. You could create the account before you leave to simplify things somewhat.
Some corporate systems (like iPass that we use) have arrangements with T-Mobile to bill the company through iPass instead of having to use an account. I use T-Mobile and WayPort and other hotspots this way. Mostly in airports.
Many McDonalds offer wifi too, though I think they have their own billing program.
Lots of Hotels are offering free wifi. Some still charge like $10/day, but many are starting to just provide access gratis.
My .02
:-)
Thanks! Good rundown.
I know the last company I worked for in CO had iPass, and I set it up a buncha times for sales guys and such, but didn't really know how it worked!
*sigh*
I really want an actual portable computer one of these days.
Having a speedy new system (albeit a desktop) at work isn't helping matters any.
Granted, this one isn't dead yet, but it *is* over four years old.
Thanks. We had looked at T-Mobile, but we may just rely on the cell phones to reserve a room for the night on the road for the trip next week. I'm downloading info about hotels in major cities on the route, at different distances so we can decide along the way how much more we want to drive, and look for a major town at that distance. SirKit is thinking about the T-Mobile service for when we have to leave here and are on the road down to MS for the big move. We can use the T-Mobile on the road, or at his brother's house. The condo where we'll stay in Sept. has broadband internet as part of the condo rental.
mmmm....nayber's wireless...
We're here and I'm just checkin' email. Most of the family is here. My brother couldn't make it because he had to be in New Jersey on business. Tough choice...family funeral or New Jersey.
Josh is here. He looks tired and weak, but good. They're working on developing his artificial arm. They take a casting of his good arm, make the new arm and paint it to match. It's pretty amazing.
Family is doing okay. She went well. I hadn't realized that they were all able to be with her at the hospital on Monday. That's a good thing.
This would have been their 65th Anniversary. We had visions of the Lord saying to our uncle, "Alright already, I'll go get her..."
'Cause we could hear him askin' ;-)
'nite.
Thanks for the update on Josh. I'm glad your Aunt's family could be with her at the end. Keeping you and the Missus in my prayers.
Aw...that's a beautiful way of thinking about it!
Glad you made it safely. Good night to you!
Heh. Probly not too far from the truth. Glad things are okay.
*snicker*
I just put a bunch of catnip around thenewscratchingpost. Cisco is just plain befuddled at the way the cats are acting...he's kinda worried about 'em.
Well...goodnight, thread!
