Have either of you used the wireless internet services at any Starbucks? Did you have to have any particular 'carrier' to do so? I know that T-Mobile has 'hot spots' at Starbucks, but we're not clear on if we need to have signed up for that company's internet service in order to open up the laptop and use it at a store. We're looking for places down I-81 and I-77 that have access to wireless internet services.

My laptop isn't exactly very portable...so I never took it out anywhere in Fort Collins and I've actually never used it except at a few hotels where I didn't have to carry it far.

But I *think* normal Starbucks places require that you have some sort of service or pay in some way. Ones at bookstores are different, though. And plenty of large hotels will likely have open wireless networks...

Ramius is probably the most experienced where wireless is concerned.
