Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Until the stars are all alight
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

*snicker* That redneck garden is neat! You could put some trailing vines in the ones you see first on the approach. It would doll it up some!

Gumbo, anyone?Mmmm. Gumbo. I think I'll make some tomorrow night. It has been cold and rainy here for TWO WEEKS! Usually, we're able to take the glass panel out of the storm door and put the screen one in around Mother's Day. No way that's happening this year. It is WAY too chilly. The 10 day forecast only shows two that are even remotely sunny!
We're sick of the cold!

Elves? Puhleeze!
They are the mearas beloved of the Rohirrim!
The six-year-old-girl-Rohirrim, anyway. I bet Eothain's little sister Freda had one back in the hut...before the Dunlanders burned it...

Wow, we haven't seen them since, oh, the late 60's or so, we thought they were extinct. Glad to see they survived and prospered.

Turns out the receipt says 15 days. Do you think there's ANY chance they'd help me anyway?
Grrr...I could just strangle certain family members. Not that it would help me any.
To: RosieCotton; HairOfTheDog
If you're not getting the service they promised they HAVE to help you. If they say "no" in the store ask them "then can you give me the name of the person that can say yes."
If it helps, have Hair and ecurbh sit out front and clean their shotguns while you're in the store.
But seriously, "no" is not an acceptable answer.

I just have a feeling they're gonna say "look, it gets great reception here. What's your problem, lady? Do you expect perfection?"
The answer is just that I expect it to work like my old one...but my guess is the *best* they'll do is replace it with another of the same model, which probably will have the same flaws.
I guess I'm gonna run and try it, though. The longer I wait, the less likely they are to help me.
To: Sam Cree
I always asked for kitchen appliances and gadgets for Mother's Day. ;o)
Glad Jeanne had a fun day, and seems to be doing well! Thanks for the Mother's Day good wishes. Sunday was a proud day for me, our #1 son graduated Law School!!

Ham hocks are TERRIFIC in bean soup, so in cooking greens, I'm sure they'd be good, too!

The answer is just that I expect it to work like my old one..Perfectly reasonable... ask for that.
To: RosieCotton
I guess I'm gonna run and try it, though. If you're old phone was Verizon and you got good service there, there's no reason you shouldn't get the same or better service with the new phone. It could be as simple as needing to reprogram your roaming capabilities.
But, bottom line is, you won't know until you ask.

Michelle Forbes. She is in this series, too, and I believe she was the woman that got tossed over the railing on "24" in either Season 3 or 4. LSAShe was also the Admirial of The Pegasus, on "Battlestar Gallactica" at the beginning of this season.

When we've wanted to trade up, we've waited for a buy one, get one free sale, and are just required to re-start the two year contract. No problem. Last time, we actually got four phones on the BOGOF sale, then SirKit was able to get a free one, because his old one broke. Check online for their latest specials, but also check the local store.
