The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

My computer complained that it'd been off-line, but other than that...no problems.

Tonight's Jack :~D

Woo-hoo! Finally a reason to *like* Mondays!

The ones I have are not only paper, but most are from an organic kinda company - they were on sale. I'm thinking they'll hold together long enough for me to get the seeds in the ground, but not much longer. So...that's good, I guess.

okay, something interesting for al of you palindrome fans... This isn't exactly a palindrome, but cool any way. I got this off my homeschool group.

Unusual Words:

Assess
Banana
Dresser
Grammar
Potato
Revive
Uneven
Voodoo

Take the first letter off of each word, place it at the end, and then read the word backwards... banana becomes ananab, etc. I wonder if there are other words like this.

Dang...the new nephrology doc is awful cute.

Not that I'd exactly wish for kidney stones, but...

You don't need a kidney stone. He needs a computer problem.

You can do something about that...

Direct, within my control, and can be executed immediately. That's how I operate!

That might explain why I was not very good with flirting the couple times I tried.

Heh...

Well, I can't get hold of Steve...he was supposed to take what is really truly hopefully the final draft to Dr. J after lunch and it's after lunch and I can't reach him in his office...so I guess that's what he's doing.

Oh man, I hope this is it. But you've heard me say that a hundred times or more since last Spring...

I've got snow peas. They're about an inch long each, but I have several! And my straightneck squash that bloomed seems to be growing just fine... despite no male blossoms being around that I can see! Also, I've got itty bitty pattypan squashes too...vey cute.
