Why do most Pyschics or Mediums Seem to be Liberal?
self | 04/20/2006 | Pippin

Posted on 04/20/2006 9:56:03 AM PDT by Pippin

This is just a curiosity I have from my "travels" throught the internet and "google".

Now, after about 4 years of being a Freeper, I really do have fun here!

I've met lot's a different people from all over this country and also from other countries.

Most of you know me by now (I know, the trouble maker from MD! LOL!)

My question and comment has very little to do with politics (Or shouldn't have).

I have been looking up info on psychics and thier predictions on variuos websites and listings.

I've read all sorts of "predictions" that seem to paint a very dark picture of the future, both of our nation and President Bush and indeed the world.

Most predictors seem to have made predictions with a very liberal bent.

even one that claimed President Bush is a medium or a psychic!

others say he'll either resign by the end of this year under scandal or he'll go crazy or get very ill and die or be assasinated.

No mention of impeachment, but I'm sure it's coming!

All this leads to my question

Aren't there any Conservative Psychics or mediums?

Why do the ones I read about tend to be left-leaning Bush/America-hating liberals?

Am I missing something here?

I'll have to tell you something (at risk of being called crazy)

I do have limited psychic abilities, but I am not getting any major vibes making outlandish claims.

I am a Conservative Christian and don't think there is anything wrong with having certain abilities, you just have to be careful of were these abilities come from.

God can bestow these gifts on a person and that is good

but, be careful that they ARE from God, and not the Devil.

God bless all of you!

I am SO proud of my boy. His mom passed away eight yrs ago convinced he would never amount to anything (he wouldn't do ANYTHING in High School). She would be proud as punch of him.

Only half of FR?

If you're at half, what am I at? 90%? LOL.

No sweat Pippin. FR is a wonderful place to ask questions. One just has to have a tough hide about the ignorant naysayers on lots of topics. A lot of people are of a rigid made-up mind without any personal experience and a paucity of research on a list of topics.

Thanks for asking. How else do we get answers?

Thanks.

I do confess to using about every opportunity to stress that the authentic globalism is headed toward a world government far worse than Hitler's. . . . and that there's tons of deceptions along the way.

It's not just benign sounding trade agreements--if there are even such as that! lOL.

It only takes a shred of research to know that James Randi is an established lying fraud himself, and there is no ambiguity about that.

That is true. Just run him quickly through a search engine.

Some of my guesses:

-"emotional" (even if that's not quite right here) characteristics tend to be related to "liberalism"; rationalism tends to be tied to conservatism

-liberals prefer the devil over God, so if most abilities are of the devil, they'd like that

-alot of these people are loser liars, fakirs, etc, trying to make a buck or get prestige without actually doing anything useful; that's the welfare mentality they're used to

OH yes I do have those abilities myself...limited but they're there.

They'll probably develop mor eif oyu decide to use them.

I seem to have a very good knack for predicting election results, including a lot of upsets that could not be predicted rationally, off the numbers.

P.S.: I'm from MD, too.

P.P.S.: a paranormal site I've starting checking has a nut on it who not only thinks, but advertises via his avatar/signature (linking some !%#!#$@!@# loony asinine absurd website), that 9/11 was some kind of conspiracy by....drumroll.....the US. More signs that most people really into this kind of thing are LIBERALS.

Could you point me to one or two of the 'plenty' who are denying that psychic activity exists?

I'll name one...The Amusing Randi.

"If you know of such an event I would be very interested in hearing about it."

Here's an old article about the CIA/FBI project using remote viewers, headed up at Stanford Research Institute. The project lasted 17 years and accummulated a wealth of intelligence on the Soviet Union before the cold war ended. There are several books written on the project.

Aw, sweetie, maybe you were led to put up the thread where you could hear the good, sound advice of loving FReepers like OhioWFan.

My advice to you would be to turn whatever ability you think you may have over to God on a daily basis. He's got the shoulders to deal with it.

"well done mediums are rare"

Was this a pun to go along with the "small medium at large" joke?

Anyone can call himself a 'Biblical scholar'........and in fact, many whose sole purpose is to disprove what God's word says (albeit unsuccessfully), call themselves just that.

There is more historic evidence for the Gospels INCLUDING John, than for other ancient texts that you accept as valid. They pass all the tests of authenticity.

It is a spiritual warfare that seeks to diminish their validity. History validates them all.

My question to all who insist such abilities are only of the devil - would you say that of all the saints and so on who have had visions, etc, never mind the regular people who think they've seen/talked to God/Mary? (I hope I'm not going to dredge up just anti-Catholics for this.)

Oh.......I'm sorry. I didn't know that you had raised this fine boy yourself.

You are to be even congratulated even more then, Dad!

(And I'll bet his Mom knows about him. Can't back that up scientifically, but I've always felt that that 'crowd of witnesses' knows what's going on down here. :)

To me the great thing about the Gospels is the fact that at least several exist for everyone to see - and in basics, they repeat each other. That speaks truth to me.

Exactly. And there are manuscripts from within decades of the events they talk about.

That's like instant information now.

If one doesn't believe that the Gospels are valid, it's because he/she chooses to believe that, not because there isn't ample evidence to the contrary.

Another evidence is that they reveal the weaknesses of the writers (eg. the disciples' fear and running away during the crucifixion). "Fake" texts don't do that.
