Greg planted purple potatoes one year. I hope he doesn't plan to again. They weren't as bad as they looked, though.
Red potatoes are excellent with their tender skins.

I thought he was shot 141 years ago today, and died 141 years ago tomorrow.
My mind is turning to mush in my old age. Thanks for straightening me out.

At the moment of his death...these words were spoken...
Now he belongs to the ages were the words spoken by Secretary of War Edwin Stanton at the moment of Lincolns death. ...

Something is going on in Iraq to cause a spike in the number of US KIA to rise this month..... Some of us are wondering if there is an offensive going on somewhere in Anbar that the media isn't reporting.
2 Marines dead....22 wounded.
This was a nasty firefight..something is afoot.

Great news, Granny! I know what it is like to wait for one of those reports and the relief "benign" brings.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought I'd lost it completely. I guess if I go to bed now, I'll be safe for at least one more day.

I saw those purple potatoes at the market where I bought my seed potatoes. They didn't appeal to me at all. I can't even bring myself to eat yellow Yukons. I like my potatoes white.

Thanks Belle. I am so appreciative of all the moral support I've received from my ATRW family while I waited for the report.

Continuing the potato planting discussion:
I read an interesting suggestion some time ago: Layer your seed potatoes in Garbage cans, on alternating layers of straw. I'm really tempted to dry it, just to see if it works.

Oh my! Two weeks is a looooong time to wait for a biopsy report. But I'm glad it was good news.
Did they send the report directly to you? Mine always go to the doctor's office and I am told by them whether the news is good or bad.
And how is your wrist? All healed up and pain-free now or still bothering you some?

I think it was yesterday that lysie mentioned using old tires for planting something. In eastern NC we were told (though never tried it) that using old tires was the best way to grow a bumper crop of potatoes in a small space.
Plant a potato and as it starts to grow, put an old tire around the plant and fill it with dirt. As the plant grows taller, just keep adding tires and dirt. New roots (and new potatoes) will keep forming and you can get a very large 'crop' from an area just the size of a tire.

We intend to just goof off around the house and relax this weekend, Mike. We've gone off the last two weekends and have another trip coming up later in the month. It will be good to just piddle around the house and take it easy.
I hope you and the First Lady have a very blessed Easter!

They sent the report to the Dr and he sent me a letter explaining the results.
My wrist is okay. But the palm of my hand continues to be bothersome. I am going to go to a physical therapist to see if they can give me some exercises to increase the strength.
In a week or two I will have a lot more time at my disposal, then I'll seek out some PT.
