Agents Discover Illegal Shipment Of Brass Knuckles
POSTED: 10:25 pm EDT April 10, 2006 UPDATED: 12:39 pm EDT April 11, 2006
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Police have not yet issued any charges in connection with the discovery of thousands of illegal weapons meant for distribution in Central Florida.
Customs agents alerted Orlando police when they intercepted a shipping container at Orlando International Airport. Inside, they found more than 14,000 brass knuckles. The weapons were hidden in boxes labeled "belt buckles."
Authorities said a closer look revealed a little nub that might be used to adjust the size of a belt, but it's easily removed.
"You can call them belt buckles all day long," an undercover agent told Channel 9 Eyewitness News. "See, my firearm has a clip, so it could be a money clip, but this is really a firearm."
Authorities believed two local businesses imported the weapons from China and Pakistan and intended to sell them at local flea markets and second-hand stores.
They said a total of 9,480 packages were heading to Y & Y Imports of Sanford, and another 4,666 were imported by Spico Incorporated, an Orlando distributor.
Florida law prohibits the sales or ownership of brass knuckles.
Undercover agent. I bet he carries one of those tiny guns with the clip to hook on the inside of the back of his pants.
Huh..
What was i thinkin'??

Besides, it'll make it easier for the BATFE to come in and inspect the contents of your refrigerator and pantry when the time comes.
