And now the Dinklemeyer:
As far as the Dinklemeyer cartoon universe goes, this is the official turning point. The strip right here makes the transition from being a poignant look at a lonely boy (there is still more of that in the future though) to a goofy, funny cartoon. This also continues the Pig Acceptance Story in which the talking pig is pressing for acceptance in the Dinklemeyer household. How this ties in with that, well see next time. And it is too funny.

Back again. Just finished the movie. It was just OK. I love Danny Elfman, but the 'pop tunes' the Oompa Loompas sang were just horrible. We fast forwarded through all the music numbers.

Aw...I loved those songs. Those were my favorite moments in the movie!

Don't forget "ghosts in a graveyard"!!
( a little stunt I once played , when I was 13, for my cousin Yvette, who was having a Halloween party. She had me hide behind a tombstone, and after she had "conditioned " her group enough, I jumped out from behind it, and scared some of them to tears!!)

I say keep your name in!!
I LOVE the "outsourced" burro!! Kinda gets the message out loud and clear, don't it??
Keep your chin up. Hopefully, things will return to normal this weekend, and we can all have another "party", last weekend.

Thanks Rca. Guess my name is staying in the title.

Whoops. I read that as "haven't". Not sure why.
GOOD MORNING PHIL. It's probably afternoon there.
I am a slave to the phone all day today, waiting to find out if I indeed have the job offer from that software company. We shall see.
So are you a big Tim Burton fan, or did you just like that one movie? What did you like about the movie, btw? I'm curious to know. I thought it was just OK. I think I liked the so-called "original" with Gene Wilder much better.
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
I wouldn't call myself a "huge" Burton fan (my Mom hates him) but I have a good appreciation of his material.
I feel that the old movie is kind of overrated. It's more of a genial bubbly candy-land sort of thing. The new one, in the spirit of the book, is weirder, darker, and edgier, and I like that.

Great job, pcottraux! As someone said your Hillary gives me the willies too. The DNC party animal wouldn't be her front man Bill would it? "Cause all the other hard working Dems are hard at work undercutting our president and his authority. Funny she's pretty quiet now that polls show how Americans want our borders closed.
To: AmericaUnite
If I'd had room I'd have squeezed a partying Bill in there saying "I am!"

I never heard back from the software company AT ALL. I talked to my recruiter who set me up with the interviews and he said they have given him NO feedback whatsoever and were not returning his calls today. (I must have scared them away).
This may, however, turn out to be a BIG blessing in disguise...
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Oh, BOY do I know what that's like!!!!
If the software company is going to be like that, who needs 'em?
