Just wondering---we have a live thread for "24" but I've never seen one for "The Shield," and there have to be some Vic Mackey fans out there. So, who wants to discuss that incredible season finale?

That was from a previous season, Lem was trying to find angie ( who was murdered by Antwon). Lem busted into an informants place and heroin while looking for evidence. He took the drugs as a way of pressuring the informant to help.

Thats correct, they had originally filmed a really long 20 + episode season but I think the people at FX got smart and decided to milk it into 2. Damn them.

Shane is a dead man walking, its just a matter of time now.The grenades can be traced to him, he had access
If he will whack Lem then NO ONE is safe
I think Vic WILL find out who killed Lem and when he does he MAY set Shane up
Dangerous drug raid where Shane THINKS Vic is providing cover.
Vic withdraws his cover, Shane gets to die in the "line of duty", wife and kid still get benefits

See stacytec's post. It's a technical thing. They obviously didn't inform marketing.

Not too many likeable characters left here.Well that's why they will introduce some new member to the strike team

And the Kavanaugh character should have been murdered about three episodes ago. I can't stand him.
To: apackof2
Its funny, after Lem got fragged, everyone around his body seemed to know that the strike team had something to do with it... except Ronnie and Vic. The showdown between Dutch and Vic is on the horizon, can't wait to see how this one ends up. Shane may turn state's evidence if Vic starts putting the facts together ( so he can protect his family). Then Vic would have no choice to have him killed "in the line of duty".

And the Kavanaugh character should have been murdered about three episodes ago Yeah but he is a good actor that helped provide a lot of suspense but he went over the line and Vic's knows his weak spot too, his unstable wife
Kavanaugh can't forget that Vic "knew" his wife, in the Biblically sense

Whitaker is great! His acting and the lazy eyelid...just can't stop watching him, waiting to see what he'll do next.

I agree!
It will be interesting to see if he self-destructs, cause he is on his way right now!

This is very much like a Greek tragedy. Vic is going down and I think it has to be Claudette who does it, eventually. Dutch is Shane's parallel. I wonder about Ronnie. He's been the smart one.
Kavanaugh will be another victim of Vic. He's not tough enough. Aceveda is interesting. I think he will lose out. He will choose the wrong side, whatever side it happens to be.

Hi, misterrob:
Kavenaugh (Every bit Mackey's equal, but a lot slimier) may or may not be back next season. He's definitely been whittled down to a position of weakness. To whatever he says without solid evidence won't be listened to by those above.
Lem had to go from about the third episode. A definite weak link. Claudette is going to be making many more enemies than friends, if she partners Dutch with with the former acting Captain.
Dutch, being the "conscience" of the Precinct is going to be set up by the Hispanic Rookie. I've had the feeling that she's a "Rat" for IAD since she first came to the Precinct.
Aceveda will continue to be the prick he always has been. It would be cool if the video of his "Assault" finally un-earthed itself.
I doubt that the grenade that killed Lem will ever be traced back to Shane. Though Lem's murder could open up a whole new can of worms for next season.
Not a "great" season finale for "The Shield", but I'll give it some slack.
Jack.

Did I miss something? I thought that at the end of last season, the Glenn Close captain had moved into a house in Farmington---wasn't that one of the last scenes? So wouldn't she still be around for Vic to use as leverage against Kavanaugh?

Actually, I don't remember. But it's believed she won't be back. If they're closing the book, you'd think they'd reference her a bit more.

Set up? Or use him on her way up the ladder
BTW as far as Dutch "being" the conscience
Wasn't it him that was applying the pimp-ology on her as HIS way in???
He thinks he's playing, but I agree, he'll be the one to get burnt
