I can't answer your questions................
But that is one cute dog!
sorry...
Miniature Pinscher
First of all he is very cute!!!!
I have heard nothing but good things about this breed.
It is always wonderful to rescue a dog and good for you.
Check out this website regarding breed standards and you may also want to call a breeder. If he comes with papers then I would think they can charge for a pure bred.

Don't know much about miniature pinschers but that is one good looking pup.
Just wondering why you ask that question on FR instead of on a dog forum?
I believe your expertise may be needed here.
PS... pure or mixed - he sure is a cutie!

What a cutie!
You are right, the legs look really short. I'm no expert and I went back and forth on whether the dog is a mix or not. My guess is pure, but clearly not a show standard.
We have a 10-year-old red Min Pin and have just enjoyed the heck out of her. She was a mill dog that we rescued also.
He's cute, and I'm not that well versed in the breed, but his legs do look shorter than what I've seen. Then again, puppy mills don't really breed for correct breed type.
Also, some breeds have problems with dwarfism. I'm not sure about minpins tho.

Min-Pin vary in height and weight even within the same litter.
We had two brothers out of the same litter, one a red and one a black and tan. The red weighs about 13 pounds and is very muscular. The black and tan never weighed more than 4 pounds fully grown.
I do know that they are the sweetest dogs in the world even though they are the Velociraptors of the canines.
Good luck!
You have anything to add?
If you look at pic's of Pure Breed min-pins, you will see that not a lot of them look alike.
We got our first min-pins almost five years ago. Two of our females had three litters between them, all of the puppies were different. (Kinda like children).
The following are pic's of Mom, Dad and baby (at three weeks old).

Sounds more like a marital issue than a puppy one.
Woof! :)
Good luck with your puppy! I don't know much about Miniature Pinchers, but he's adorable!
I've met the Eakers' Min Pins and, after yapping like they want to have me for dinner, they seem to like me well enough. Of course, I haven't been around them as much as humble has, at least not yet.
I've always had Shelties and Collies, and am now the proud owner of one Karankawa dog and a Sheltie puppy, so my limited doggie expertise wouldn't be very helpful to you.
Good luck!
