How have you been? Good I hope.I'm good, Emily, thank you for asking. I hope all is well with you, also.

If Pickle doesn't go home tonight, the point will be made most clearly that this is no longer a singing contest. That point was made when Mandissa was sent home.

She has so much upside it's scary. If you think of classic American singers, think about them when they first started as kids and there you have Paris. You're right, misterrob. She does have a lot of room for growth, but I do think she needs better, more contemporary coaching than she's been getting from the pros in her family.

hope all is well with you, also. Everything is well, thanks. :)Haven't been on the daily thread for President Bush in a long time though. Don't go much to the political sites any more. Just this one and the 24 thread. Don't have as much time and just sick of politics right now. Guess when the elections kick in I'll go back and check them though. I registered today for 2 more classes, so the summer should be busy. Hopefully, I can teach again in the fall. See you in a bit. Got to go pick up my oldest from piano lessons, eat dinner, then on to church. Ya'll have fun tonight.
Keeping my fingers crossed that Kellie is the one to leave tonight. She doesn't bother me so much except her talent is limited compared to the others. Paris deserves at least one more week than Pickler.

I don't quite know what to make of Taylor anymore. I think he is listening too much to other people and may be losing site of who he is. He needs to go back to being Taylor.

He needs to go back to being Taylor
If some of the AI board rumors are true, he will be "going back to being Taylor" after tonight. I have a hard time believing this in light of his rabid fan base and DialIdol stats, but who knows? The fix could be in...
To: Wolfstar
She should be considering a 50 year career in the business. I could see her, Kat, Elliott & Mandisa singing into their 60s and 70s.
Fame is fleeting....

That point was made when Mandissa was sent home. Exactly. And tonight Paris will probably leave, unless AI decides the vote is close enough for them to make the determination and they choose to send Pickles packing. But, I doubt they would send her because they are hoping to have her around for when her daddy gets out of prison.

I see Taylor differently. I think he believes to have somewhat of a frontrunner status now, and is playing it "safe" - ie, saving his best performances (GOMM) for last while giving enough to get by and trying to display variety in his songs. As it is, I don't see him dropping off much lately as others do. He simply sang a purely vocal love song pretty darn well last night. I do agree his song choices don't always seem to line up with the Taylor Hicks we all want to see each week, but the guy is a seasoned performer. Despite today's rumors, I think he is safe and will kick some hiney next week.
To: over3Owithabrain
What do you mean? You think he's going home tonight?
To: misterrob
Downloaded the MP3 files for this week's performances and the two that come across better with just the audio than they did on the show are Paris's(yeah, she oversings it, but it's still damned impressive) and Taylor's(very rough start but not too bad from the middle onward even though the song was wrong for him.)
To: Wolfstar
Not only that, but these kids are getting advice from each of these guests and it may be too much info and advice in too short a time. They may be getting overload. Too much in too short a time can be bad if they try to use it all without perfecting one before moving on to the next. jmo

It looks like your wife was right. Good catch! See post 8512.

I don't think Taylor is going home, but that is the rumor. Apparently Ryan said that Nigel said that a "shocker" is to come tonight - someone with a huge fan base going home. Take it for what it is worth.
