You may be right.
I see Taylor differently. I think he believes to have somewhat of a frontrunner status now, and is playing it "safe" - ie, saving his best performances (GOMM) for last while giving enough to get by and trying to display variety in his songs. As it is, I don't see him dropping off much lately as others do. He simply sang a purely vocal love song pretty darn well last night. I do agree his song choices don't always seem to line up with the Taylor Hicks we all want to see each week, but the guy is a seasoned performer. Despite today's rumors, I think he is safe and will kick some hiney next week.
Not only that, but these kids are getting advice from each of these guests and it may be too much info and advice in too short a time. They may be getting overload. Too much in too short a time can be bad if they try to use it all without perfecting one before moving on to the next. jmo
