"THE GREAT ANN NESBY"

Didn't she invent whiteout?

I will try to find it. I can get at least one Chicago station, I'm just not sure which one it is.

Thanks for the link!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the thread from last night! I had to use the bathroom a couple of times to keep from wetting myself. Darn weak bladder on account of having three babies!

I get the impression that in real life, she might be a clone of Cordelia on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". ;)

LMAO!!! Great analogy. I really miss that show too. Some of the best writing in all of television.

Last week they had Paris on the bottom and Kellie went home but I don't think they took the 2 numbers into consideration.

Last week Kellie and Paris were the bottom two and within the margin of error so they predicted that one of the two would be kicked off. They have been pretty accurate after they adjusted their formula after the top 12 started.

I do agree with your assessments of Chris and Taylor, Max. I like Chris, I really do, but he is very limited. I agree he would be a better fit for a band frontman. Taylor is extremely entertaining and I always look forward to his performances.

I think Kat is really good, but she lacks something.

Elliott, well, everyone knows how I feel about him. Voice like silk. Reminds me of the days of Marvin and Luther.

"they predicted that one of the two would be kicked off."

That's a cop-out! One of the two doesn't cut it. That's like saying either Bush or Gore won the election in 2000.

Last week they said Paris and they were wrong. I few weeks ago they said Ace and they were wrong.

The consolation is this:

Dial Idol: Ace
Went home: Bucky

Dail Idol: Ace
Went home: Ace

Dail Idol: Paris
Went home: Kellie

Dial Idol: Paris
Went home: (If the pattern holds, it should be Paris.)

Paris needs to do the jazz stuff like Ella Fitzgerld to succeed. I'd buy her CD if she did that stuff.

Modern (pop) music isn't her strong point. She's kind of like "Fantasia lite." (But not as much screetching.)

"I could see Taylor rock with "Only the Good Die Young!"

Yes, that would be an excellent song for Taylor. ANY song with little range is GREAT for Taylor. Thus, Taylor would be wise to stay away for other Billy Joel (who REALLY can sing and has an excellent voice and good range) songs.

Trusting DialIdol is lot like trusting exit polls. Most of the time, they're pretty close, but methodology and sampling errors make them useless for close races.

In this case, DialIdol (unavoidably) has a methodology error because they don't take text messaging into account. They also rely on their users being a representative sampling of the country, but it is a self-selecting group, and that laways introduces some form of bias.

Katherine (my personal favorite) and Paris are the top two and have the most talent, by far. Both did well last night, Katherines second song being particularly good. Paris is so versatile.

Chris performed well though I didn't like his song selection. He would be good as the lead singer in a rock band.

Whether Elliot's song lacked pizzazz, or not he sang it beautifully.

Taylor's first song was absolutely horrible. And if spastic and quirky is good dancing he was tops. His second song was however, HIS best performance this year.

Of them all thus far, Katherine deserves to win this competition, and I'll be rooting for her.

He has tons of hits and could really work well with the contestants.

"Still Rock & Roll to me" for Taylor. "Only the good die young" is probably too racy.

"Trusting DialIdol is lot like trusting exit polls."

That's a good point...although they're a bit better because with exit polls you have to take the liberal bias of the media into consideration.

but I'm still a bit worried about McPhee. I'd hate to see the next week or two without her.

No McPhee, no me. A deal breaker for sure.

OTOH, if she makes it one more week and Paris goes then she should have enough "guy votes" to make it to at least to the round of 3. I think the problem is that the girls are outvoting the guys this year and that is hurting Katharine. She always leads in the somewhat more male dominated internet polls. Look at the raw scores on dialidol.com - It's McPhee by a mile.

I think that DI will have continue to track close to the show's results. It's a sampling of voters that while uncontrolled scientifically, still manages to give you an idea of who the lowest voter getters were.

Note that AI has not always said who the lowest two vote getters are each week.

Simon questioned how Taylor got a song from 30 years ago into the top 10 billboard.

If I were Taylor I would have said, "The same way 'Try A Little Tenderness' was removed as a love song." But I'm a smart-a$$ that way.

Both Taylor and Elliott acted like they could care less what Simon had to say last night. They both knew they are not the Chosen Ones.
