WHAT A CROCK!
This sounds about right. I know when I was single all the single men were living...........................elsewhere. (OR they were hiding. Hhmmmmm......................)
What, is this the "50 best places to live for mousse-wearing metrosexuals" or something?
OK, I can see Hawaii, that's a no-brainer. And who among us hasn't thought it'd be cool to try living in Alaska for a while and be, I dunno, a rugged bush pilot or something? But Santa Cruz and Portland? Come ON.
Of course, maybe if they all move there, it'll keep them the hell out of the South and leave more Southern girls for us. And if any of these poofs want to come down here and try for one of our fine ladies, just remember this: Those ladies have daddies. And those daddies are just as good a shot as their daughters!

Well,
Now I know why I love living here so much :)
My sister-in-law and brother-in-law live in Port Townsend, Wa. PT is beautiful but is arguably the most liberal community on the west coast, and that is saying alot. The missus says the town was more normal in the 70s and 80s. Now its just nuts.
Knew a blond who went there looking for a Hungarian.

Our schools are fighting to get back to normal. Liberal politics in "Lebanon U.S.A." drives me crazy. Thousands turned out to protest against Bush last weekend. Photos were on the front page of the local fishwrapper. Tree huggers and nut cases love Ore-gun.
What the writer of this review apparently does not know is that this city has been linked to the mob since the 1920's. Horrors! A local reporter wrote a book about the problem and quickly moved far away. There was a famous mob figure who was in charge of all the local gambling, prostitution, drug dealing who made a pile of loot. He moved to Nevada and opened a world famous casino. Now the governor and people in power want to open more casinos. Well, we have organized crime and the lottery. What's a few more casinos?
If you like liberals, tofu, granola, riding your bike to work or everywhere you go when you're not driving your Subaru, then Boulder is the place for you!
Does anybody but me find these numbers a bit weird?
Come to Miami. No income tax, great jobs in banking and real estate, where women, most of them hot South Americans, outnumber men.
GARY Indiana, Gary INdiana, Gary IndiANA, my home thweet hooooooooome...
I find myself agreeing wholeheartedly with what's been said in this thread about Seattle....The Land of Unfriendly Women to be sure. Smiles are rare and far-between, holding a door open at a shopping mall entrance for a 'lady' will get you an angry glare or worse ("I have arms, you know!" was one memorable substitute for "thank you" and a smile) and you can rest assured that the date you are on will be your last if you dare to hold the car door open, help her with her coat at a restaurant or hold her chair for her as she sits at the table.
Although I was born in Seattle and have lived here most of my life, I hate it passionately and would have left decades ago had it not been for family responsibilities. I like FR threads like this a lot, not because of the original article (which usually is a laugh) but for the insights provided by other FReepers all across the country....I'm gradually compiling a database of prospective cities to move to when my responsibilities here end.
Thanks very much for posting the article :-)
