Why I Support President Bush and the ZOT!

Posted on 03/19/2006 6:29:28 AM PST by thousand dollar hamburger

I think he has a sincere desire to help everyone. he has even gone out of his way to embrace people like Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. He does not hold grudges as shown by his willingness to bend over backwards to allow terrorist supporting nations to operate our ports. We need this type of benevolent leader.

Our President is not a cheapskate, as he has opened up our budget to give to anyone who might need anything.

Aliens from all nations are welcomed into our great country without having to deal with mundane bureaucratic State approval. Cutting government red tape -- that's the Bush way!

Yes, our Prseident even realizes that occupying as many countries around the world as possible is the best way to spread American ideals.

We are truly lucky to have this great man. I suggest that at 10:00 AM EST, we all stand up in unison and shout -- HOORAY FOR BUSH!!!

"... 314 days until I can legally grab one ..."

It's a bit of an acquired taste. I think of it as liquid bread.

While I do not go out of my to drink liquified bread, it serves as an adequate reward for a day of gratuitous travail.

It is important, however, to set limits for yourself before you begin drinking, for the day, or for a lifetime.

My rule is that the more difficult the day, the more rewarding is the end of it, and the more that one beer tastes good, and is sufficient.

A case lasts me longer that way, too.

The End of the Internet

Good night everybody!

"... does the Internet have ends?"

Why of course it does! And ways as well.

And means. And wherewithall.

However, it generally lacks Gore.

I'd like to have one.

It's just still illegal for me to drink it (even in Wisconsin, of all places) ;)

If you can learn to stop with one, you'll never have any trouble.

The Chinese had a saying; First the man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes the man.

Just like gambling, if you can't set your limits before you start -- don't start.

question: have africanized ("killer") bees made it as far East as South Georgia?

Sure. The bees will evolve a collective mind and kill you in about three days. Then Roger Corman will make a movie out of your experience.

Have a good sleep!

Maybe next year some time we should make another full fledged run at it...

Partial overcast here.

Ton of e-mail too. Going to take hours to get through it all.

Good luck!

I'm not even getting e-mails from my mother this week, since she's in Europe.

It occurs to me that fledge and fletch should be more closely related linguistically than my dictionary says they are.

fletch (flèch) verb, transitive
fletched, fletching, fletches
To feather (an arrow).
[Probably back-formation from FLETCHER.fletcher (flèch´er) noun One who makes arrows. [Middle English fleccher, from Old French flechier, from fleche, arrow, of Germanic origin.] ]

fledge (flèj) verb
fledged, fledging, fledges verb, transitive
1. To take care of (a young bird) until it is ready to fly.
2. To cover with or as if with feathers.
3. To provide (an arrow) with feathers.

verb, intransitive
To grow the plumage necessary for flight.
[Probably from obsolete fledge, feathered, from Middle English flegge, from Old English *flycge.]

German loanword in French, German root in Middle English. I think the dictionary just didn't reach far enough back.

Could be. But "full fletched" sounds weird to my linguistically tin ear.

Def #1 under your provided definition for fledge works just fine.

I think T-C has it right.

It's fun to play with words, but I'm glad I don't have to do it all the time.

That would take the fun out of it.
