Why I Support President Bush and the ZOT!

Posted on 03/19/2006 6:29:28 AM PST by thousand dollar hamburger

I think he has a sincere desire to help everyone. he has even gone out of his way to embrace people like Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. He does not hold grudges as shown by his willingness to bend over backwards to allow terrorist supporting nations to operate our ports. We need this type of benevolent leader.

Our President is not a cheapskate, as he has opened up our budget to give to anyone who might need anything.

Aliens from all nations are welcomed into our great country without having to deal with mundane bureaucratic State approval. Cutting government red tape -- that's the Bush way!

Yes, our Prseident even realizes that occupying as many countries around the world as possible is the best way to spread American ideals.

We are truly lucky to have this great man. I suggest that at 10:00 AM EST, we all stand up in unison and shout -- HOORAY FOR BUSH!!!

The cross of Christ is known as the central icon of Christianity, but it did not feature in any early Christian art until at least 430 A.D., where it appears, stuck off in a corner, on the doors of Saint Sabine.

Right. The ichthus--ancient Christianity's secret handshake--is older, but has regained popularity somewhat recently.

Depends where you are ;)

Last spring, people were flinging snowballs well into April--leading to the saying "9 months of winter and three months of bad sledding"

Of course, many of the guys I know were placing bets as to which 1D10T's car would be the first to sink through the ice...

No. She might know of one to sell....depending on said child's behavior, of course.

I have saved a copy of this post in the full expectation that it will be pulled.

Not at my instigation, mind you. I just happen to know that the Proprietor has certain "rules."

This one?

...Regardless of how the two exchanged places, what difference does it make?

I don't know. Should it? I suspect there is an answer for you somewhere, but since the Resurrection indicates that Christ is alive, and a cross is a symbol of death, I would say it's just a symbol that some people need, for whatever reason.

I have no clue what kind of answer you're expecting, but I bet this isn't it...;o]

Have a safe weekend! And remember the reason for the Day.

It has come to the attention of our legal division that there may be an issue regarding what some have termed the "sale" of Canadian refugee children. The Outsider Foundation in no way supports the sale, exploitation, unlawful labor, or general hijinxs of children. We deeply regret this misunderstanding and wholeheartedly appreciate your continued donations.

Sincerely

Ah. Well, I'm so far from THAT border that I have no clue what goes on there.

(Here, we have a school teacher telling kids that "Republicans hate Hispanics." What kind of message is that?)

Canada seems "normal" by comparison.

Actually I think that hat came along about 100 years later.

The pilgrim costume you see worn by tiny tike's in their thanksgiving recital is about as authentic as their AmerIndian costume. :)

When questioned, fall back on your Indian ancestry and cry persecution.

Then I'd sound like a puling liberal.

No, the one with the donation request. We get away with a lot, but I don't know how that's going to go over.

It's horrible. They come down here and spend their quarters and next thing you know you are at a laundry mat with a load of wet clothes and the dryer will not accept your quarter and so you have to lug the wet clothes home and it is all Canada's Fault!

Yah. Someone's idea of a costume/hat/language. I wish I could find my joke of a "swing"...going from inception to building. I think four or five committees had it before the product was finished...the two ropes on the swing were on either side of the tree with the seat in front of it...yah....ingenuity.

I don't know. Should it? I suspect there is an answer for you somewhere, but since the Resurrection indicates that Christ is alive, and a cross is a symbol of death, I would say it's just a symbol that some people need, for whatever reason.

If you don't mind, I may have to commandeer this one. There has been debate in Protestant circles as to whether congregations and individual believers should use crucifixes or crosses. Some of the more mainline branches see the former as being too "Catholic." Others view the crucifix--and these are the lib, social gospel churches--find the image too disturbing.

What few grasp is this: The crucifix is a vivid reminder of Christ's suffering at Calvary--for you, for me, for everyone. The cross, however, is empty. While it was the instrument of death that God chose, it need not be merely that. If one starts with the crucifix, the empty cross is the next stage. You can figure that one out: it's the Resurrection. We don't proclaim that Christ died for the world and end it there.

The Resurrection was preached from the very beginning of the Church. In fact, the very existence of the Church today points towards the event. There is no doubt about this, only ad hoc rationalizations.
