Why I Support President Bush and the ZOT!
Posted on 03/19/2006 6:29:28 AM PST by thousand dollar hamburger
I think he has a sincere desire to help everyone. he has even gone out of his way to embrace people like Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. He does not hold grudges as shown by his willingness to bend over backwards to allow terrorist supporting nations to operate our ports. We need this type of benevolent leader.
Our President is not a cheapskate, as he has opened up our budget to give to anyone who might need anything.
Aliens from all nations are welcomed into our great country without having to deal with mundane bureaucratic State approval. Cutting government red tape -- that's the Bush way!
Yes, our Prseident even realizes that occupying as many countries around the world as possible is the best way to spread American ideals.
We are truly lucky to have this great man. I suggest that at 10:00 AM EST, we all stand up in unison and shout -- HOORAY FOR BUSH!!!

I hope she has the best doctors, and will pray for a quick recovery for her, and strength for you. Thanks! This hospital has extremely good doctors. (And free WiFi Internet access...)
The basic problem is that she doesn't have full control over one foot.
I don't know what's going on today though. When I got here she was very doped up on something, they were concluding a nerve stimulation test and then immediately sent her for (yet another) MRI where she is now, and surgery is set for 4. No time to talk.
I did hear a doctor say that there are a couple of possibilities, "compression" and something else I didn't quite hear but which sounded like degenerative disease (though I think I heard that it's arrestable). Somehow the surgery will tell them tomorrow.

Hey NNB,
Let me know if you happen across a good way to remove lots of H2S from a gas stream that also contains some oxygen and some benzene...
The nonregenerative stuff will cost too much, and have too many trucks coming and going. The oxygen attacks the amine systems, and makes them unviable. The oxygen removal systems are usually catalytic, and the sulphur poisons them. And the membranes are intolerant of the benzene. Seems as if benzene likes to attack cellulose acetate.

The first thing that comes to mind is to freeze out the Hydrogen Sulfide by using liquid Nitrogen. The benzene would also be removed at a higher temperature.
If H2S is your only problem, you could then go on to treat the other gases.

Thanks.
Already have a query with Merichem on this one. Lo Cat may work, but they are mulling it over.
Nitrogen is pretty good idea. I've flashed liquid N2 through a P&F exchanger to get low temp d-limonene, but I'd sure need a whole lot of it for this case.
Have alrady done compression/cooling calcs. It'll cost me a bit over 2500 hp to compress it enough to get the benzene out. Then I'm thinking about running the HP gas through a turbine to recover 70% of the compression energy (300-1800 portion) since the membranes only need 300 psig versus the 1800 psig to get rid of the benzene. Then I'll be getting some joule-thompson effect thru the turbine, so my gas to the membrane may actually be too cold for it!
Oh well. Monday is another day to bang on it some more...

Keep up that good sense of humor.> Well, okay, it was half in humor.
As a frequent traveler, I really appreciate facilities with free WiFi (and even hotels that don't charge excessive amounts for it -- I am known to boycott outrageous pricing). It's nice to have a lot more speed than I get through my cellphone.
For the hospital, though... what a way to fill in long periods of downtime (waiting when a loved one is in surgery, for example).
But even more, I suspect, for the patients; LibreOuMort wanted to be *sure* I brought her laptop so she could get online (it's a really old laptop so we're not too worried about theft, though it did take a while to find a WiFi card that would work in such an old machine).

There Are 10 Kinds Of People
My computer argued with me, about my counting way,
Something must be this or that. Theres no such thing as gray!
I saw it had a point, of course. I try to be discrete.
But it was somewhat young to know that things cant be that neat!
I know some things can turn you on, and others leave you cold,
But there is stuff to know, about which youre not told,
And rounding errors do occur, we have to guess a lot.
The computer didnt see it. Something is, or it is not!
Well, what is your opinion, then, of Love, and Death, and War?
Can you define the right of things, or what were fighting for?
It may be that youre right. I could be somewhat out of touch,
But anything I do not know, can not amount to much!

Good morning from Manhatten Island, NY, NY!!!
It feels a little early for us West Coasters, but I wanted to get up early to try to change my internal clock.
Nice place you got here, NYC Chick! Looks like a lot of clean up since my last trip :)

There is one phrase that they use that makes me want to punch out some lights: We're doing the jobs Americans don't want.
Wrong answer. It used to be that kids could get jobs at fast food places for the summer, but now they can't get them at all.
I've seen too much about the illegals first-hand to get involved in it. I may end up with a stack of tortillas burning on my lawn.
