Find a partner or grab your favorite beverage & listen to some Irish tunes .A couple of wave files - full-length, lilting, Irish melodies - they are so beautiful! I hope you can open them, or "save target as" to your hard drive and listen to them later.
"My Wild Irish Rose" ~ John Gary "I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen" ~ John Gary

"Irish Lullabye" "The Last Rose of Summer" "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" "I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen" "Danny Boy"
Why Saint Patrick's Day?
Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.
So, why is it celebrated on March 17th? One theory is that that is the day that St. Patrick died. Since the holiday began in Ireland, it is believed that as the Irish spread out around the world, they took with them their history and celebrations. The biggest observance of all is, of course, in Ireland. With the exception of restaurants and pubs, almost all businesses close on March 17th. Being a religious holiday as well, many Irish attend mass, where March 17th is the traditional day for offering prayers for missionaries worldwide before the serious celebrating begins.
In American cities with a large Irish population, St. Patrick's Day is a very big deal. Big cities and small towns alike celebrate with parades, "wearing of the green," music and songs, Irish food and drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games. Some communities even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green!

Highly educated and liberal - run like you're being chased by a hungry lion
They're fun to piss off.
Recently on a field trip, a group of us were in the hotel room having a few beers. I said something slamming Greenpeace, PeTA or some other liberal group, and a good looking girl that I TA-ed eventually came out with the usual "Bush is an idiot" nonsense.
Evidently, I had enough beers in me to immediately pipe back: "Two supreme court justices in under a year, and John Bolton sliding right in as ambassador to the UN, at what level does that place your intelligence? F**king Idiot??????

Middle English doesn't seem too far off from Scottish.

My day was not too exciting.
Had to put a new belt on the blower in the furnace(I changed the motor Monday, and found out that the old belt that LOOKED "perfect" was really ready to go any second). It took about 30 seconds to change it. Now, the old girl(as in 1978 ) should be ok for awhile---and it is getting COLD here, so that is a plus!!
I had planned to go to an Estes auction in Medina, (about 200 miles north of me) but the guy I was planning to ride with pulled out, and I didn't want to drive this time(gas is too expensive, etc.) I will probably find out he went anyway, and lied to me. It HAS happened before, in this case(the auction) and many other cases, since i have been a kid.
Had an average work week, nothing bad happened, just a LOT of lifting and road-calls(with the owner along.
The girls are getting ready to watch "yours, mine and ours"(the remake) and I may join them.

Well, I do understand KJV better than your quote, but similar backwards talk.
Old English might as well be another language all together.

Well, of course we're intelligent. I mean, we are conservatives. I like to think I'm particularly intelligent since I'm a YOUNG conservative woman ;)

Here is the modern translation of that:
"Befell that, in that season, on a day
In Southwark, at the Tabard, as I lay
Ready to start upon my pilgrimage
To Canterbury, full of devout homage,
There came at nightfall to that hostelry
Some nine and twenty in a company
Of sundry persons who had chanced to fall
In fellowship, and pilgrims were they all
That toward Canterbury town would ride..."

They don't have movies but you can download singles for 99 cents a piece or an album for $9.99. They have TV shows and music videos that mostly go for about $1.99 a pop.

LOL, she hasn't said a word to me since! Any more, I am so sick of idiot/liberal girls that doesn't even bother me.

Hey, that's a Chipmunk rifle. Another company makes one too. Its a little boy's rifle. I bought one for my nephew years ago, but it had a plain wood stock on it. Single shot .22.

Independence is OK too, but a lady can get too independent to the point that she feels she doesn't need a husband. My life has made it so that I have to be independent and do the things that a husband would normally take care of. I don't have any men that I can rely on around me, and I live 300 miles away from my family. I've had to learn how to fix a toilet, change windshield wiper blades, jump start my car, etc. out of necessity. So, in theory, I suppose I could live the rest of my life without a husband and survive.

You sound very independent and you would make a man a great wife someday.
You looking? How old are you? There are guys on this thread looking too. I know you are way too young for me.
But it is fun chatting with you anyway.
