Find a partner or grab your favorite beverage & listen to some Irish tunes .A couple of wave files - full-length, lilting, Irish melodies - they are so beautiful! I hope you can open them, or "save target as" to your hard drive and listen to them later.

Why Saint Patrick's Day?
Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.
So, why is it celebrated on March 17th? One theory is that that is the day that St. Patrick died. Since the holiday began in Ireland, it is believed that as the Irish spread out around the world, they took with them their history and celebrations. The biggest observance of all is, of course, in Ireland. With the exception of restaurants and pubs, almost all businesses close on March 17th. Being a religious holiday as well, many Irish attend mass, where March 17th is the traditional day for offering prayers for missionaries worldwide before the serious celebrating begins.
In American cities with a large Irish population, St. Patrick's Day is a very big deal. Big cities and small towns alike celebrate with parades, "wearing of the green," music and songs, Irish food and drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games. Some communities even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green!

I used to sit on the porch of a resturant in Sarasota, FL, just outside the entrance to Siesta Key on Rt. 41, the Tamiami Trail, with my wife. They had tables set up there. The water was right at the porch. We used to feed the mullet with bread from our meal. It was really pretty neat!

Sometimes you wake up from a nap more groggy when you wake up than before you took it.

I hate that!
Do you ever have a small headache, then take a nap and wake up with a worse headache than you went to bed with...that refuses to go away until the next morning?

I got so steenkin' drunk from Margaritas several times that I am now very careful when drinking them. They go down sooo easy and are sooo powerful.
There is an old saying. Margaritas are not senioritas.

Yes. A few Alieve pain medication works wonders for that. But they take a whole hour before they start to work.

"Well," said one of the farmers, " he was alright when we found him here .. but since we turned his head back to front .. he hasn't said a word since!" I hope Ireland has a really generous good samaritan law.

No, but if you have enough of them, you'll soon be unable to tell the difference.

I can get drunk off anything. It just depends how fast I'm drinking. Er...I mean...I never get drunk.
