Find a partner or grab your favorite beverage & listen to some Irish tunes .A couple of wave files - full-length, lilting, Irish melodies - they are so beautiful! I hope you can open them, or "save target as" to your hard drive and listen to them later.

Why Saint Patrick's Day?
Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.
So, why is it celebrated on March 17th? One theory is that that is the day that St. Patrick died. Since the holiday began in Ireland, it is believed that as the Irish spread out around the world, they took with them their history and celebrations. The biggest observance of all is, of course, in Ireland. With the exception of restaurants and pubs, almost all businesses close on March 17th. Being a religious holiday as well, many Irish attend mass, where March 17th is the traditional day for offering prayers for missionaries worldwide before the serious celebrating begins.
In American cities with a large Irish population, St. Patrick's Day is a very big deal. Big cities and small towns alike celebrate with parades, "wearing of the green," music and songs, Irish food and drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games. Some communities even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green!

"You spend all your time thinking about dying, like youre gonna get killed by eggs or beef or global warming or asteroids, but you never take time to imagine the impossible, like maybe you survive
"

I thought I'd try to get a little FReep time in before bed, but I suppose I'm too tired to even do that.
Good night!

I love it when they refer to Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" as "classical music".

It's TiVoed. Just watching the 2nd episode now...speaking of which, where did this "transmitted telepathic field from the TARDIS" stuff come from!?!?!?!? Is this a new unknown detail about the TARDIS they just decided to throw in?
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Second episode? The first episode aired for the first time tonight. Or do you mean the old series?

The brand new series on the scifi channel. They showed two episodes back to back. Tonight is the premier night.

Rose just called the human bed sheet "Michael Jackson". HILARIOUS!
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
