I was tipped off to this last night, checked it this morning and found it to be true.
If you go to Google, type in "failure" and then hit the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button, you get a copy of the White House website for George Bush.
Ok. Please ping the people you know. I am not certain who watches our list, but I have seen it picked up by various places.
Thanks,
McVey
Don't use google.
Dogpile is much better.
This has been around the block so many times.
1. It is not an attack by Google, but is the result of "Google bombing" where numerous websites linked the phrase to GWB's white house webpage.
2. This goes back to when Tom Dasshole was still senate minority leader and when he made his infamous "deeply saddened" speech in which he called Bush's foreign policy a miserable failure, which inspired to moveon crowd to pull this google bomb stunt.
3. If you keep pinging people to your vanity post, you are going to experience a lot of ridicule on this thread.
do a search -- a google search -- for "google juice" and you'll see how this comes about.

Thanks.. The pics sum it up for me.
And to the poster... welcome to the internet"s", noob.
;-)

My hubby is now officially a Google employee. Buy Google stock everyone!
OK, thanks - I just checked into this. The Help section says the "Lucky" site is the 1st 1 on the whole search list. In this case, that's the Bush site. You'll notice on the search list, he's followed by (altho for some reason, indented) Carter site, then independently (#3?) by Michael Moore.
But, just how does this "Google bomb" work? It's about links? Is this about key words used from the sites that link it? I wish I could understand all this....
There are probably a lot of people that have never seen this before. I hadn't. Thanks for the information explaining why, but please cut some slack here. Even if you've been around the block with it there are others here who never heard it. I had never heard of 'google bombing' before, so I actually learned something.
So I am behind the times, dammit! Yet, this is not making it into any place where it counts of which I have heard. I checked before I posted and I found no mention on the usual suspects.
We get screwed and we can't get attention?!?!
Dammit!
McVey
Secondly, why in the world should we ping "people we know" to this garbage?
Ok, ok, I get it. NO MAS!
McVey
Oh, I don't know about that. Don't sell yourself short...you seem to have gotten both.
You just got a Freeper spanking.
Enjoy!!
You asked for it.
Don't feel bad, though. I get behind on these things badly as well. Please don't take the replies personal.
