Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.
Our FreeRepublic team of 300+ members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).
Currently, the team is in 164th place (with 992 CPUs - nearly 19,000 completed Work Units and 2,982,241 points)
This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 8 folding threads)

We average around 45,000 points/day. At this rate, it'll take us 2 1/2 months.
Looks like you won't be seeing any credits from me for a few days.
That sorta happened to me Yesterday. I must have had like 10 machines all check in at the same time plus the normal rollover. They were camping for a few days on those big 5way melts. The total pushed me to a personal best for the day over over 6k point. Of course, for today, I'll be lucky to hit a third of that. These big jobs really mess up daily points.

Of course, yesterday, I had a banner day.
And as a note.
Don't post the giant downturn I expect on today, the 14th :)
Beware the ides of March
Folding@Home Bump!
snicker...
The race is on. Who gets to 1,000,000 points first, me, or the DU? We're both predicted to hit that, sometime on the 21st.
I've got Wed, Thu, and until 4pm on Friday, to pad the stats, until the energy czars pull the plug on me until Monday...
This is going to be a ROUGH weekend, watching the stats.
Go Klutz... Go!
Yeah, I thought it would look good, as a sneak preview. :)
I've got an 18,000 point lead right now, and up 4,000 on them for the day. Hopefully the overnights, will jump that up, to cover my weekend slump....
I've already trimmed my toenails and fingernails in preparation, so there will be less to bite, as the million mile mark approaches.
If you know of a better way to prevent the second start up from going into non optimized mode, please let me know. Thanks.
BTW, congratulations on a huge day!
I'm running a Pentium III 533MHz working on Tinker p1152 for the umpteenth time. Should I be seeing things about "SSE" in my log file? I read that Tinker cores WUs aren't optimized, so does SSE not apply to Tinkers?
I barely know what I'm asking. Just checking. =)
I can't find SSE in my log file either but things seem to be running ok so I'm not gonna worry about it.
On another note, congrats Malsua on an awesome 6000+ day!
Go, Klutz Go! Beat the DUmmies to a million.
and.......Guess who just broke 10,000 points a few minutes ago?!? WOO HOO!!
Congrats Malsua, that's a huge day by any measure.
Did those new CPUs kick in yet? We're still 6 CPUs short of 1,000.

Go Klutz, Go!!!
You can do it!!
Btw, you'll break into the Top 500 of all folders today! Congrats for that as well!
We're thrilled to have you on our team!
