If you've ever seen the competition on ESPN or whatever, it is hilarious. They have names for their gambits, many of the players have some sort of costume or persona, and the play-by-play is a scream! It's a great excuse for silliness.

I think we got bored of r-p-s when I was a kid so we added a couple of new ones: I think it was gun (index finger and thumb) and match (index finger only).

Let's see...I apologize for the formatting....but here's a game matrix:

R P S G M
R 0 - + - +
P + 0 - + -
S - + 0 - +
G + - + 0 -
M - + - + 0

So gun beat rock and scissors but lost out to match and paper. I guess the latter doesn't make any sense, but we had to make it a fair game somehow. Match beat paper and gun but lost out to rock and scissors. I suppose even pretending with matches and guns would get us kicked out of school today....
