You could do a lot worse than being a Tull fan, that's for sure.

Have you heard Divinities? His flute playing is just incredible. One of my favorites is the live album "A little light music", the rendition of Rocks on the Road is riveting and the 5 mile acoustic intro by Martin on Too Old to Rock and Roll would shame many guitar players that people think of as great.
To: Mr. Blonde
I agree. ANd when the mood is right, just like Pink Floyd, I catch glimpses of how good they really were.

I've seen them 4 times live...my favorite show was the Stormwatch tour in 79. Flying Dutchman live was quite a treat.

When young and kind of puffy with baby fat she had this cute young but slutty look.
Her youth and cuteness left 20+ years ago, her music is no longer in vogue and has to use a spatula on her face to apply makeup despite surgery.
She's a goddess in Japan, but big deal, so is Tom Cruise.
She could sing pop well though.
Or I guess you would say dance music.

Ian Anderson is the best flute player rock has ever seen. Maybe the best flute player of all time.
End of story.

He is indeed...he's also one of the greatest songwriters of all time. In this era probably only Dylan is a greater songwriter. As a performer, Anderson is one of the best you'll ever find. It's quite a combination.
To: scott says
I have only seen Dylan in concert once, 1977, and he did not play Visions in that concert. What is incredible about that song is intense melancholy combined with those haunting (literally, I guess) lyrics. It just stands out for the mood it creates...a tone poem (sic). The same mood was picked up some years later in Blood on the Tracks, which might be as great an album as was created in an awesome era for music.
