What do you do to relax, chill-out un-wind and de-stress besides chatting with other freepers?

Helpful tips thread...

Apart from FReeping-

I complain. I'm pretty good at it too.

I also love to spend time with my family. I complain to them alot. The two year old likes to join in but isn't nearly as good at it as I am. The newborn just stares and smiles- she knows better than to complain just yet. My wife is a good listener and never complains that I complain too much.

Apart from complaining, I like to paint. Mostly rothko-esque type stuff, since I'm not patient enough nor good enough to paint portraits or still life.

I work out every weekday. I like to keep in shape and I'm building a home gym so I can avoid some of the drawbacks of working out at places like Ballys.

Other interests include graphic art, photography, website development, working on my home, and spending a lot of time with my amazingly thoughtful, caring, intelligent, adventurous, hot wife!

Things I avoid-

Cleaning. I'm a clutter bug. I have it all organized in my head and avoid moving things less I forget where I place them.

Sleeping. I don't sleep very much. I get around 4 hours per day.

___

That is probably more than you want to know, but I was in a sharing mood.

Cheers!

I'm also getting into science fiction writing. Working on two novels right now. Progress is slow but steady.

And if we have any literary agents here on FR, I need to talk to you!

"The bandwitdh here isn't the greatest. I open the firewall for certain times, and then shut it down so others can get out."

I always open my firewall too, and I also disable anti-virus software when I'm playing. Games tend to be resource hogs on systems and you need every bit of RAM you can get lol. One of these days I just know I'm going to get hacked or infected with something while I'm playing a game.

Maybe I should have used a semi-colon after "paper".

Skydiving, opera writing and beer drinking, although generally not in that order.

Yeah I would have to do the drinking first. very definitely first.

Close. I'm more a skywriting, opera drinking, beer diving kind of guy.

I'm an importer. And exporter. I'm an importer-exporter.

Although I'm thinking of de-emphasizing the importing and focusing on the exporting.

I'm also an architect.

Does that include bagpipers?

we try to each youngest daughter to drive a stick.

That was easy. I took my daughters out to a not yet completed housing area where the streets were finished and nothing else. Had them put the car in reverse and do nothing but back up for two hours.

They were allowed to use the clutch or brake or excelerator, as they saw fit. I sat in the passenger seat and read a book. I made no comments unless asked. The last fifteen minutes were spent in going forward thru the gears.

Whenever we left they knew how to parallel park, the relationship between the various pedals, and my brakes were well adjusted.

Oh! This system works really great if you have access to a 4 wheel jeep.

Shooting. A day at the range is better than more relaxing than watching reruns of Rachel Corrie getting flattened by a bulldozer.

to relax, chill-out un-wind and de-stress

Don't get stressed anymore. Otherwise, some time in the garden or trimming the shrubs every day seems to make the whole world even a little more mellow, even in winter there is something to do with that.

I play with the Dread Boston Salty and the Ferocious Feline Bebop Trio, needlepoint or cross-stitch, read (mostly history and historical fiction), play computer games (right now, my favorite is City of Heroes, but soon I will be playing one called Oblivion), or ride the !#$%&^ recumbent bike.
