Gotham City superhero, Batman, is gay, according to Hollywood superstar George Clooney.
The actor who was being interviewed on an American Oscar show, replied to host Barbara Walters who asked if he would ever play a gay cowboy. Mr Clooney said he believed he had already played a gay character, "I was in a rubber suit and I had rubber nipples. I could have played Batman straight, but I made him gay."
Fans have debated for years on the sexuality of Bruce Waynes alter ego. The oscar nominee played the caped crusader in 1997 film Batman & Robin, directed by Joel Schumacher.
Mr Schumacher has previously been praised by gay groups for giving Clooney and Batman Forever star Val Kilmer pert nipples, tighter buttocks and an extended inflatable codpiece.
Questions over Batmans sexuality started in 1954, when psychiatrist Fredric Wertham said Batman's close friendship with Dick Grayson, Robin, was sexual. Mr Wertham said: "Sometimes they are shown on a couch, Bruce reclining and Dick sitting next to him, jacket off, collar open, and his hand on his friend's arm. "Robin is buoyant with energy and devoted to nothing on earth or interplanetary space as much as to Bruce Wayne.
"They live in sumptuous quarters, with beautiful flowers in large vases."
The funny thing is... this would play right into the older teachings of the psychatric schools-
A man with a troubled childhood suffers a traumatic blow (the death of his parents in his face) and ends up gay.
If their theory pans out (the Bruce Wayne is queer) then it would only perpetuate the truth anyway- homosexuality is a psychosis that proper treatment could cure.
schumaker
But even in the midst of all this lewdness, idolatry, wickedness & depravity....it can only mean that JESUS is so much closer to His 2nd Return for All His People.
Gay Batman director Joel Schumacher. Much beloved for his perky nipples and inflatable codpieces.
Interesting! Mr. Clowney believes that gays should be stereotyped as people who wear "a rubber suit and (have) rubber nipples."
So, Mr. Clowney, are all gay women "butch"? Are all gay men hairdressers and interior decorators?
Was that standard issue along with the original utility belt?
And what's with fish references? Batman's trouser trout rested comfortably behind his codpiece. And Robin's got the tartar sauce.
Wasn't Dick a little young at first to be having a sexual relationship with Batman?
I remember a lot of women kissing Batman, although I don't remember him initiating anything in the show (didn't he keep dating women in the movies though, I guess that could be part of the disguise).
I don't remember any MEN kissing Batman....
What about Superman? Maybe Bruce Wayne was straight, and Batman was gay -- but Clark Kent was gay and Superman was straight.
I loved the monologue from Kill Bill 2 where Bill explained how special Superman was because of all the superheroes, he was the only one whose "costume" was his non-super-hero persona, and how that persona reflected how Superman saw all of us.
Which would be gay?
Actually, in context of that interview, it was very amusing.
Waiting for the Ponch "You're a Homo" picture.........
Wait, that totally didn't sound right. Oh snap...
"Buttman"--- many imitators, no equals.
Getting back to the show, the male villans were all clearly gay or effeminate. Especially Ceasar Romero's Joker, Frank Gorshin's Riddler and King Tut (I guess Meredith's Penguin was ok, but he was the exception). Meanwhile, Julie Newmar's Catwoman was always tring to get Adam West into the sack and he wanted nothing to do with it.
Yes!
Has Clooney ever played straight?
He sure didn't seem "gay" to me in Batman Begins.
But if Clooney is playing him, then that explains his comments...
Come out of the closet, George!
