In Batavia IL, the town next door to Fermi Lab (federal lab that works on particle acceleration) there is a cul-de-sac called Quark Court.

In Piscataway NJ there is a road called Johnson drive. Eventually this road turns into Old Hoes lane. This leads to many jokes about old ho's on the end of a johnson :-)

Just around the corner from me in South Windsor CT is Beelzebub road. There is a firehouse at one end and they are re-builting the church that burned down at the other end.

I have a good friend in Killingworth CT who lives on Roast Meat Hill road. It derives from an Indian name for the hill where, pre-colonial, Indians used to gather after an annual hunt and roast and dry meat for the winter.

Interesting thread. When you are just east of San Antonio on I-10 you cross "Woman Hollering Creek" so is there a "Woman Hollering Creek Road"? Any freepers in that area? I have always wondered how that creek name came to be.

My family is from Jesup. DeLoach?

Next town over- we're in Brunswick. Wife's Mom still lives on Old Jesup Road, in what used to be "out in the country."

It's kind of interesting to follow the old road; it weaves in and out of the newer one, and includes a lot of deep swamps and old concrete hiway.

There's a strange guy that lives on Minehaha road in a surrounding town. He's pissed that they changed the street name to that, and I'm told to don't dare ask him about it. He's the only place on that dead end road.

He's also bulldozed himself a lake, complete with overflow drain at the bottom. It's, uh, well, empty all the time. I don't get it. He's supposedly an engineer.

We have a whole town in Washington named Humptulips.

Is that how you get flower children?

That's right up there with some of those wonderful New Jersey town names. Rahway. Boy, can you have fun with that!

ROTFLMAO. Did these streets get renamed after 1992, or have they had these names before Bubba became IPOTUS?

Just found this post.

My bro-in-law used to live in an apartment at the corner of High and Stone, in Lexington, KY (just off the U.K. campus). The street sign at the corner was stolen so frequently, that the city finally quit replacing it.

Also in Lexington, there is the intersection of Centre Parkway and Centre Parkway; the street sign there must certainly rank as one of the most confusing.

And, in Princeton, KY, there is a P’Pool (pronounced Pee Pool) Drive. (P’Pool is a surname in that area.)

There was a baseball card a few years back of two rookie pitchers (neither of whom had much of a major-league career) who shared the card. Tehir names were Jung Bong and Brandon Puffer. The card is referred to as Bong-Puffer.

I lived in a town that had a ninth st. What made it odd was that it is the only numbered street in town.
