Sounds marvelous!

It does. That old evil Yellow Face was out in force yesterday.

(I took advantage of it to go to the church and snap a new series for a panoramic image for the top of the website -- somehow the panoramic view of the church under snow didn't look right for spring.)

There must be a setting somewhere, because I don't see the inits during boot.

I don't think we're getting to 10k this month. But that's okay... I've encountered the dreaded "pause" once or twice on FR in the past couple of days.

One thing I have to do is scout for a new home...

ERK! I hope no one was hurt.

I moved from the Bay Area in '77, and have no desire to go back.
As for quakes, I'll stick with the ones in Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and Montana...

I was in a couple when I lived in LA, but moved back to Vegas about 9 months before the Northridge quake hit...our apartment complex was totalled...it was across the street from the epicenter.

Sometimes the aftershocks cause more damage than the original quake.

My Guardian Angels work overtime. :o]

Hello!

If someone in the US of A were to mail something to someone else in Canada, would a work address be better than a home address? Just in case, you know...;o]

LOL!

IF 'someone' were to do such a thing, the work mail is checked more often than the home mail.
Otherwise, unless it would need to be signed for, it wouldn't matter.

Silly, Sis!

What have you got up your sleeve now?

Heading home now.
See ya later.

It really doesn't matter--I'm used to it after using Slackware 10.1 (2.4.29)

Other than that, I have had no complaints with Suse 10. And they have a cool default background as well--I've even copied it over to my Windows partition.

What I'd really like to do though is install the XPde theme for the guest account and set up a FreeNX server on my computer--not only so that I can access it remotely, I can create a temporary user and allow others to try Linux by using an NX client.

'83 here. Went through a few small quakes. We lived for a while in a small cabin on the 35 degree slope in the Santa Cruz mountains. On the uphill side it was on the hill, down hill two stories down. But it apparently went through the Loma Prieta quake just fine.

I've always had the inits, so it's a bit strange to see it boot without. I'm thinking of finding that switch -- it takes SO long to boot I'd like to know what's happening.

Suse does have nice backgrounds, but I don't use them. Mostly I put my own photographs up. My work laptop shows a garden in Korea (alternating with one or two other shots) and the Suse box the moon.
