Actually, I'm currently visiting my parents. We're on spring break.

That was good timing.
There off out here also, but I wasn't sure of your spring break.
Now don't you show up in any late night spring break DVDs going wild!

I know that "tired" stuff. I'm fighting it big time.
How are your folks?
And did you take Winston this time?

I hate the cold stuff coming through.
We had air come down from Alaska to cool us down most of last week and I didn't like that at all.

My parents are okay. Winston got to travel with me this time since it's a long vacation. He enjoyed Dolly Parton for part of the trip.

You mentioned he liked her. Just her voice?
I like her two. I want to get the album with her, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmy Lou Harris...but for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it...

California couldn't handle highs in the 30s for that long.
Most people have some form of California bungalow homes and being most were built when energy was cheaper, there is most often NO INSULATION in the walls.
On a cold day, (between 44-60) if the heat was left off, then the temp in the house would only be 10 degrees warmer.
I and many do have fireplaces though, but we always thought that was for show rather than heat.

I'm not sure exactly what it is about her voice, but Winston responds to it. I keep his "car seat" wrapped in towels except for a small opening so he can get some light. When I play Dolly Parton or a few other singers, he swims up to the opening and looks out.

Illinois is used to cold weather. It's understandable when areas aren't well prepared for it since it doesn't happen often.

I was born in New York where we had brick buildings with radiators and such.
Just was a different life east compared to out west.
I did play tennis out in the cold and got a wind burn yesterday. (poor me)
