Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We have a free weekend on Showtime on the Dish Network. We're watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Kinda goofy, but fun.

Heard from the other room, "Nana, you farted!"
That'll teach her. She's been in martyr-mode all week. Wife and I just figgered out it was because wife was sick for too days.
Nobody gets to be sicker than Nana. Wife is being punished.
~sigh~

Also today from Castle Stormhands:
Jr. you need to help me in the yard today.
I'm in pain. I worked out yesterday.
I'm in pain everyday.
That's because you're old.
And your the ungrateful smart-@$$ that made me this way. Get your butt out in the yard.
;-)

We're watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. We saw it in the theater, and then a couple of weeks ago when it started on Showtime. Really like it for the images, especially the giant robots!
To: RMDupree
You're welcome... just be sure you're prepared. *Lots* of interesting stuff happens!

I like my HP Pavilion a1110n; got it on sale at CompUSA.
Of course somebody around here will be able to tell you precisely how and why it sucks, and how I'm in for a rude awakening when the suckage manifests; but so far, so good. XP Home, BTW.

Sometimes I wonder if you're exagerating stuff.
Then I realize no one could make this stuff up. You have alcohol I hope?

This one is a working draft. I'm not entirely happy with it yet:

Why on earth does she think that hairstyle works? For anyone?
To: RosieCotton
It's her secret agent disguise.
I like the old Minbari Up-do so much better.

Yeah, I've got alcohol, but one of us has to go pick Jr. up from a birthday party at 11:00. Which will technically be 12.
Good news is that according to my diet records, with the yard work I did today and what I've already eaten...I can have another 1500 calories.
I just called out for a side of beef...

Bah. Can't he walk home? Youths these days.
Heck, I'm kinda surprised his butt isn't grounded after a smart remark like that.
