The Hobbit Hole XXVIII - Through shadows to the edge of night
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 02/24/2006 9:52:11 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Through shadows to the edge of night

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Mornin' everyone!

Late to work because the day care owner decided I should be her therapist. :-/

And I ~really~ needed to be here by 9am today. Figures.

It'd better not be Friday, I'm not ready to take my AI midterm *or* leave town.

And be prepared in case he tells you to take your notice and get the h*ll out of his store.

See, this is what I think is gonna happen. And it's not a situation I've ever been in. I'm really nervous about it all.

I guess at least it's temporary discomfort. Then I can move on to a job that sounds great, and maybe buy a system (or the parts for a system) from these folks a few months down the line, and we can all be happy. Maybe.

Some, but I kept waking up.

And Tam went into a major yowling fit at three. I have *no* idea what that was about. He was just talkin' - not crying or anything. Maybe one of the mice came out and he wanted to let me know?

I don't see any carcasses, though.

*sigh*

But he has caught at least one mouse before, so I *think* he'd know what to do, unlike Halvah.

Looks even snowier over here, without the trees to shield the ground a bit. I hope the roads are clear!

Virginia Beach really isn't a spring break town. It's too cold. It's the late summer festivals you want to avoid there.
