The weather here has been pretty odd. On Sunday it hit 52F. (I'm not complaining!)
Do you do any hunting there? I bet the waterfowl is great where you are.

your pix are lovely.. I meant to comment earlier.. crisp & clear with the modified Attic air!
I love the upper peninsula of Mich. have done rock hounding in mineral waste piles & old mines.
I am in agreement w/your assessment of sea kayakers .. and have found the same true re: downriver kayakers.. But I went with the group for the last time before the last election. Could hardly stand the social time & bumper stickers. Felt I was walking on eggshells to not say "offensive things" . I think you get the picture. I feel responsible stewardship of environment is impt. there are many who are NOT responsible & as much as I hate to see the govt step in w/control sometimes it is necessary.
Cleveland (where the pollution was so bad the river caught on fire) was a virtual cess pool or air, water pollution. The rivers, Lake.. Amazing loss of fish, fauna in waters. he Feds/ control made the difference.

I'm a junior. One and a half years left! I have no idea what I'm doing after that.

Ah, that sounds nice. My long term goal is to live by the beach. It may come sooner if I win the Powerball.

Me too, actually. Good night everyone! So much for my movie date with the Hub. He'll get to make up for it tomorrow...

We do have hunting here actually. Pheasant, turkey, prairie chicken, deer, and antelope. On top of that, there is some pretty good fishing in this area too.

IMO, many environmental groups had a legitimate cause regarding a lot of pollution in waterways and such and those should still be addressed. But any more, the lawsuits and red-tape are damaging environmentally as they make things so much less efficient. Socialism is not good for the environment either!
Were you copper hunting? I used to live in the Keweenaw, and miss it dearly! Lake Superior was 9 miles from my apartment.

I know it is difficult to sort it all out. Pain leaves it's mark.. Not sure if you are a man of faith but my sanity is from playing outside & trusting my God
here is something Neets Posted the ohter day on another thread:
AFTER A WHILE,
by Veronica Shoffstall
After a while, you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads
On today, because tomorrow's ground
Is too uncertain for plans, and futures have
A way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine
Burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate
Your own soul instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn...
With every goodbye you learn.

Sounds like a worthy goal to me. I've often thought of a life in politics. I'm still young enough for that to kind of keep it on the burners. :)

I used to live in IA when I was younger, and my parents moved back when I started school. I can't believe that there are pheasant in MT or SE AB, as cold as it gets. A harsh winter in IA would kill so many birds, its amazing they survive where you are.
I wish we got turkey near Edmonton. I did pretty well on grouse, but not as well on waterfowl. Deer season was pitiful, for me anyway, I saw more moose and elk than whitetail! Got a young mulie buck, so it wasn't a wash!
Pike and Walleye I'm guessing? A friend of mine lives in Bozeman, great trout fishing there.

Moving can be a headache, but you realize what you liked about places you've been and things you like about where you wind up!
