Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured
- 192 million Valentines Day cards are exchanged annually, making Valentines Day the second-most popular greeting-card-giving occasion. (This total excludes packaged kids valentines for classroom exchanges.) (Source: Hallmark research)
- Nearly 60 percent of all Valentines Day cards are purchased in the six days prior to the observance, making Valentines Day a procrastinators delight. (Source: Hallmark research)
- There are 120 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) who are in their 20s for every 100 single women of the same ages.
- There are 33 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) age 65 or older for every 100 single women of the same ages.
2.2 million marriages take place in the United States annually.
That breaks down to more than 6,000 a day.
- 145,800 marriages are performed in Nevada during 2004.
So many couples tie the knot in the Silver State that it ranked fourth nationally in marriages, even though its total population that year among states was 35th.
Oh, that.
(Shifting feet)
My dear boy, you'd do fine! Actually, I got a flower from someone who was "sharing the joy" once. It was great.
I'm off to bed! (sorry, you can't come...)
'Night!
LOL. Goodnight, Hoodlum. Will you be gracing us with your presence tomorrow night?
Goodnight, darling!
He makes a great Viking kitty!
He does!
Did everyone else go to bed?
I don't have a bed to go to...the bed sold today. Gonna hit the couch pretty quick, though. Tomorrow is my last day in town and it's likely to be a doozy. Lots to do.
Where are you going?
Thanks. I finally got the computer game to stop, not sure what worked, but we just kept trying to quit the program, took a popcorn break and visited briefly with a friend and came back to it. Whew.
The new computer has to be on the horrizon soon though. I actually have 3 desktops and a laptop. Oh and even a few DOS computers here, that are waiting for the hard drive to be wiped out. My husband was a tax accountant, and we had our own Accounting practice, so those computers have way too much personal information from too many clients to just throw away. We had the latest technology, but now its all outdated, being that computer stuff is outdated as soon as it hits the market and he died 4 years ago.....
Anyway, one of my husbands best friends was here tonight, to pick up his car that was in my driveway for several days, while he drove with another friend to Vegas for some meetings.
This friend and my husband were both huge football fans, particularly the Green Bay Packers, so they always watched football together. And Superbowl was always a big party around here. Walt used to do what he called the "Wall of Vision", several television sets in the family and living room and one in each room in the house, including the bathroom, so nobody would miss a play. He even had a party one year on my birthday, and forgot until the game was almost over that it was my birthday...urgh.... But in his defense, we were not married yet, and every year we were married, we were in Hawaii for my birthday. Granted it was for Tax appointments, but that day was a play day.....
Enough background, anyway, Mark asked me, what did you do for Superbowl. I told him, well, Walt would have died, but I took Eric (my 4 year old) to the beach, instead of going to a Superbowl party. Then we both looked at each other and he said, yea, he already died, but definitely would have again. I could not believe I used that expression, I know its a figure of speach, but it was so weird after saying it.
You still here, P?
Hey, good! Someone else is here.
Still about.
Moving long distance - CO to WA. If all goes well, I head out Sunday.
LOL, yes you did write that. I used to live in Ohio too.
yep, just got my kiddo down, so here for a bit, while trying to get work done, but this is more fun :-)
Good! Hoodlum91, and I think najida and apackof2 all went to bed.
