QUINCY, Mass. It may be the sign a Massachusetts man was praying for.
After Dennis Thomson lost his 20-year-old son in a car crash, the Boston-area man prayed for a message that his son was all right.
Now, Thomson's prayer may have been answered. His son's picture is on a Red Sox billboard that recently went up near Fenway Park.
The son, also named Dennis Thomson, is shown with two other men. They're celebrating a home run by outfielder Trot Nixon that won a 2003 playoff game against the Yankees.
Thomson was killed a year later by an alleged drunken driver.
The Red Sox say they had no idea who the fans were when they put up the billboard. But the team says it's proud to have Dennis appear as a symbol for Red Sox Nation.
The family has made several trips to see the billboard since a friend alerted them to it.

I'm a big believer in signs. This one seems pretty clear.

One morning, while missing my mother very very much, and wondering if she was really 'there', I asked for a sign. An hour or so later, while a quiet moment after dropping the kids off at school a song came on the radio. A local DJ had written a song called "I choose to believe" about choosing to believe we will see our loved ones in the after life. I took that as a sign.

The family has made several trips to see the billboard since a
friend alerted them to it.
If I'd been that friend...
The first time I saw the billboard without prior warning, I would
have had the hair standing up on the back of my neck, wondering how
a dead accquaintance got resurrected for a billboard advert...

That gave me goose bumps :o)
I emphatically believe in signs. I think people that have experienced a great loss recieve them all the time, just cant see them until they're ready.

Nice story. My son was killed in 1984, I would have loved to find his picture on a billboard.
My husband had a dream in which our son said to him "don't worry Dada I'm OK" and then he smiled and was gone. I know a number of people who have been visited by the departed very soon after their death and saying they were OK.

Thanks for the ping CB.
I think it was a sign.
A sign of love, and peace, from his son.
IMHO, God has all this stuff planned out beyond our understanding.
