Seattle coach laments having to take on the guys in the striped shirts, too
DETROIT - No appreciation or consolation in Seattle for the Seahawks, at least not yet.
Nope, they were still stuck in frustration.
The post-Super Bowl parties went into early Monday morning as the Seahawks at least tried to celebrate their season, instead of their somber Sunday. Later, coach Mike Holmgren tried to refocus the team, momentarily, on what it had done and what it still may do.

And the Seahawks were still stinging from a few officials calls that went against them, such as Darrell Jacksons touchdown catch that was taken away by a penalty and a disputed TD run by Pittsburghs Ben Roethlisberger.
We knew it was going to be tough going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Holmgren told the fans at Qwest Field. I didnt know we were going to have to play the guys in the striped shirts as well.

Bush's Fault.
The pics of the man on your homepage cannot possibly be the same jerk that has been posting on FR for the past 48 hours.
Gee, he took the Packers to their first Super Bowl since Super Bowl II. What was there between Lombardi and Holmgren to wreck? You might as well say Brett Favre wrecked the Packers.
Great find. Shows what hypocrites the whining Steeler apologists on this thread are. So Cowher did in 2002 EXACTLY what this thread is bashing Holmgren for, complete with the skipped handshake.

Cowher upset with 'ludicrous' penalty call
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Bill Cowher didn't have time to shake hands with Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher after the game. He was too busy running after referee Ron Blum. Once again, officiating caused a ruckus at the end of an NFL playoff game. And this time, Cowher was on the wrong end. This is what set him off: Titans kicker Joe Nedney missed a 31-yard field goal early in overtime Saturday, but got another chance when cornerback Dewayne Washington was given a 5-yard penalty for running into the kicker. On the next play, with the Steelers trying to call timeout, Nedney's kick gave the Titans a 34-31 win. "For a game to be decided on that call is ludicrous,'' Cowher said. "And for me to have to explain to an official what's reviewable and what's not is wrong. Fine me if you want. That's the truth.'' (snip)
"It's the playoffs, there is a lot at stake. If anyone should be ready, then it should be them.'' Pittsburgh linebacker Joey Porter said: "He should lose his job for that.''(snip)
Maybe Holmgren shouldn't have said that, but I'm not going to jump down his throat, because basically they were screwed by the refs. The Stealers complained more a few weeks ago and they won. I thought the Stealers got bad calls in that game. But this was the worst.
Untimely interception was a direct result of a bad holding call that should have been 1st & goal at the 1 yard line, adding 7 to the Seahawks and subtracting 7 from the Stealers because they got the ball at midfield because of another bad call the Hasslebeck tackle/low block or whatever., Again 50% pass completion, how many passes were taken away because of penaltys? 1 in the end zone, and 1 at the 1 yard line. thats 14 points. 50% third down conversions.. well if you keep getting phamtom 10 yard holding and interference calls id like to see you make it.
Well, some who are compaining are certainly not from Seattle. They may think they are "objective", but objectivity is a myth. And even if they are trying to reach "objectivity", most of them are just relatively ignorant of the rules of the game.
Bummer.
;-)
very helpful.......... thanks.
Dude, get real. I have seen 6000 posts in the last 27 or 28 hours doing nothing but knocking the Steelers victory. By mostly the same people, over and over, with one goal: to take the joy out of the Steeler win for the fans here at FR.
I've got every right to be pissed. Sorry if you don't agree with me.
Yes, that is me on my homepage. Doing what I like to do best.
Post #164 is even more helpful.
Ignorance NOUN:
The condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed, lack of knowledge
Your very insightful....the speed of the pro game is what makes it so hard to officiate. Also remember when the Patriots played the Rams? Billickek had his corners and safties maul the Ram recivers and they got away with it too. He knew the refs would look the other way. And your right about players knowing how to "Stretch" the rules. The Hogs of Redskin glory used to hold like they were dancing with the defensive line.
You seem to be ignorant of post #164.
See, that's the problem right there.
Your team won the Super Bowl and instead of enjoying the moment (because in the grand scheme of things, it's only a mere moment) you elected to spend it being pissed.
How utterly wasteful.

Read it again and see if you can comprehend it this time. They stick a sharp stick in your eye and expect you to like it. Then they do it again and again and again. Some even pretent to be nice. But they all have the same objective as referred to above.
And they are still doing it right now.
pointless, childish, and pathetic.
And you are one of them. Out of many.
LOL...... you sound like a silly liberal talking like that.
If you believe polls you will think that the economy sucks. That's what polls say a majority of Americans think. Don't trust polls! And don't trust viewers to know the rules of football or to not let their emotions rule some of their conclusions.
You probably still think Roethlisberger didn't score that TD. There are posts on FR that clearly show the ball over (above ) the goal line. Yet you "crazies" continue your irrationality.
You are just one of those people with flawed thinking on this. Blow off stupid polls. They serve no purpose. There still are 40% of stupid Americans who think Rather's forged documents are authentic.
Try to wise up on this.
If you're the face of winning, losing looks better and better all the time.
comparisons are odious.........................
